Soooo, got a nasty whining noise coming out of the bike when accelerating/ load on the drivetrain. Goes away as soon as the clutch is in or when decelerating. The whine is rpm related not road speed related so im guessing its the gearbox bearings. Can't feel any play in the front sprocket either in and out or up and down. the shift shaft has a bit of play in and out.
How shitty is it to replace the gearbox bearings? Can it be done from the bottom of the engine or is it a complete disassemble job?

Engine out and split job to do gearbox bearings. I would suspect your noise might be the primary drive (the big gear behind the clutch), very common on straight cut gears.
