Well, Yong is heading back to Malaysia in a few weeks and he has been working on a killer CBR250RR in his evil lair, he has a Tyga kit for it and needs to finish it off. The bike is at my place, and I have a free Sunday morning so, this is a call to arms to reassemble his Cibby and get him on the road. Yong wants to have a quick ride before he heads home. Venue - Kiffstas Place Time - 9.30am to ... Maybe a few beers while we are at it So who is in : Cheers Chris A few pics of what is here
i have seen chris,s front yard and it is not like this, very neat and tidy and no beer cans or scrapped bikes.
Well, I haven't been down for awhile but if it looks like the photo, Have to conclude Santa showed up early.
well, as with anything slightly custom, its 2 steps forward, then a mild tanty because parts were missing . We kicked off at 9am with Phil, Cal, Yong and Yong's sister, Darren rocked up soon after. First up were the carbs and do think they would come off... finally we extracted them and to be honest they were pretty good expect the jetting was all wrong 112, 110,110,112 , we replaced them with 112,115,115,112 then installed new needles. We put it back together and the choke wouldn't work, the choke slider was all bent out of shape. I had a spare, co Cal fitted it and it was working a treat. We decided to sort the clutch, what we found was after fitting a cable, the clutch would activate.. GGRrrrr we undid the engine cover and clutch push rod was missing. Darren fitted the headlight to the body, installed the bulbs and then went to fit the windscreen... oppps, that didn't arrive so Yong did a runner home to get it ( and other bits) via Sydney. Phil lock tighted the brake disks and the rear sets were lock tighted and marked as done. The rear brake light switch as sorted. Phil, Darren and I then had a crack at the rear tail light, having done a Tyga kit before , I know how hard they are to get in... but because this kit has been fixed, it didn't want to play nicely. Next was the fitted to tail section, that went pretty well and I hooked the electrics up and they did what they were supposed to. About 1pm, Yong came back, we were still missing the clutch push rod so we called it a day, I wasn't feeling well so it was time to crash out and watch the Cricket. Phil and I did some more work this evening fitting the exhaust , H bar and main fairing, more dramas there... but we will work through it. Big thanks to Darren, Cal, Yongs Sister and Phil for coming over to help Yong out. big effort lads, well done !!!
The test fit of the front end means lots more work On a brighter note, the petcock is in and the tank is on
Well it was great to have Cal to ride down to Brisbane with, he claimed I was speeding a little, not according to my speedo. Chris has well documented the work that we were able to complete, alas there is a lot more to do. Think the bike will look awesome once completed. Rode back to the sunshine coast this afternoon and it was a dreadful 120k's as the winds were blowing like crazy. Good to be home, many thanks to all who ventured over to get our mate yong mobile. We did make some progress but still some to do. PS. Greyimport was a no show???
Mate I couldnt even make it to the carpark at Bunnings here The day will come though ..... I heard cal drank too much of the beer and fell asleep in the corner under a fairing.
was great to catch up with the usual suspects, cool to see kiffstas awesome garage, great to have a sunday bike & banter. even though Young's essential "make bike go" bits were scattered to the far corners of the earth, was a somewhat productive day
