    Just wondering,
Can the shock absorbers on my 65 YDS 3 be dismantled and rebuilt ?
Mine need re-chroming and the shrouds painted .

Ok, to get them apart will involve pushing the blue shroud down to expose the shaft with the nut and holding the nut while unscrewing the top mounting eye.
First drop the spring preload down to softest setting (it is on hardest at the moment).
Then you may have to make some sort of a clamp/puller to compress the spring to allow you to get the eye off, after which the spring will come off the top of the shock body.
These shocks were not great when new, so unless you are doing a 100% rebuild then looking for replacements might be a better option.
