Hello! I need some help, and please be gentle - I'm reasonably new to stuffing around with my bike so I'm sorry if this is totally stupid.

I thought replacing my clutch cable on my '91 Zeal would be straight forward, apparently not for me. Ordered the replacement which seems to be the right length, but it's got a different connection at the clutch side. The original clutch cable had the same little barrel connection at both the lever and clutch sides of it, so I'm assuming that it's just the wrong cable. But then another question popped up - is the cable supposed to feed through the bracket that the original cable ran through? That's the bracket that bolts on to the clutch cover. Because if it doesn't, I wouldn't be able to adjust the length at the engine side, and if it does then I have no bloody clue how it'd go through.

Any help would be amazing guys, thank you so much.

Yep, so it definitely wasn't, but I guess the question was can I use one of the generic replacements that are advertised for it. And I think the answer to that is no, because nothing will fit into that bracket and it all comes in one piece...

Have ordered the OEM part, so that'll work anyway, thanks guys!
