They are the specs I got out of the latest issue of Australian Motorcycle News. You can find the specs side of it here:
    http://www.mcnews.com.au/NewBikeCatalogue/2004/Kawasaki/ZX10/ZX10_Page1.htm

    Review of the bike: http://www.mcnews.com.au/Testing/Kawasaki/ZX-10R/Page1.htm

Can also find the specs now on kawasaki australia site - no price though. I would be willing to guess that it will be in the same range as the R1 (+/- $1000??)

One of my favourite comment from the review was "capable of 90mph (145kph) in first gear".

(oh - the power is 174, but 184 with ram-air assist so to get full power you must also be going at a decent rate.)

Hahahaha stupid ay Kawasaki had to find a way to make there ZX2R better than our bikes so they said it had ram air.

KAWASAKI ARE LIERS AND TRY HARDSSS

    Well those pipes are to give it a 'race' look, much like there bigger brother the ZX7r. BUT..... those pipes do nothing the ram air is all ****. They only put those pipes on it to make it look cool but they only work on ZX7r or larger. <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":rofl:" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: --> <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":rofl:" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: --> <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":rofl:" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: --> What a pack of WANKERS Kawasaki are <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":rofl:" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: --> <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":rofl:" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: --> <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

    lol

Hahahah Yep, that would be the case. I think that new Kwaka is nice looking but still think all they companys are trying to look like the R1. Hondas copyed the front lights along with Kwaka and Trumph so going by that Yamaha is still setting the standards. <!-- s:sniper: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_snipersmilie.gif" alt=":sniper:" title="Sniper" /><!-- s:sniper: --> <!-- s:sniper: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_snipersmilie.gif" alt=":sniper:" title="Sniper" /><!-- s:sniper: -->

I'm all new to FZR and biking.. but just wanna share that I just bought mine 2 weeks ago for $2580 with 12month rego... I think it's a 3ln (I saw it on the exhaust and it's using aluminium deltabox frame)... it comes with uni filter(is it a brand? is it good?) it'd been dropped before as the left side body kit is scratched .... otherwise the bike runs very well... do you think it's a good due?

Welcome to the site and congrats on picking an excellent learner / 250 bike! The fzr will still be a good bike well beyond your l's and p restrictions (I have had mine for nearly 2.5 years now).

The $2580 does sound like a good deal, assuming the k's on it are not excessive - anything sub 35 000 - 40 000 is what I personally would start considering 'getting up there' in mileage. Having said that Jarmizz has his bike up around the 70 000 km mark (I think that's right) and it still sounds like it runs well so mileage is not the only factor - also how well it has and is being looked after is quite important. Mine has just passed the 45 000 mark and there are still no unexpected maintenance issues (just typical oil, chain, etc.). (no clue about 'uni filter' - saw it on the pics as well - can only assume it relates to the air or oil filter and the previous owner thought it would spice up the bike).

If it has the deltabox it will be a 3ln model. 3ln's can have either twin or single headlights though (the single headlights generally being new imports).

Congrats again! As you are from Melbourne I would also suggest looking into <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mraa.org.au">www.mraa.org.au</a><!-- w --> as they organise usually 2 rides each month from Melbourne (one always tailored for beginners - though experienced to go on it as well). Further, <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.netrider.org.au">www.netrider.org.au</a><!-- w --> is a social rider group primarly in Melbourne. They have coffee nights every friday night at Southbank, so if you want to meet up with some fellow riders it is a great place. They are not 'stuck up' and will converse and make welcome l platers as well as people on 250's. I attend semi-regularly and have good fun each time.

    Hey bro,

Thats right mines done almost 70,000kms hahaha na its all good aye bro. They are good bikes if well looked after. Keep the oil nice and clean and let her warm up before riding hard.

Uni Filter is a very good brand of filters. It is kinda like semi racing, like they alow more flow of air but not enough to start playing with the jetting side of things (which is a good thing). I think you got a good deal and dont worry about your bike being droped nealy all bikes have been droped its just that the owners dont want to addmit it.

Good luck in riding and have tones or fun

    Jarmizz
