WSBK 2022 kicks off this weekend. Lets see if Rea and Kawasaki can give Yamaha a run for the title.

Some interesting additions to the WorldSSP grid also ... made possible by electronic parity.

MV (popping & banging) and Triumph sound cool. The Kawasaki and Yamaha sound like they're there to do a job; nothing flash, just fast.

Next door neighbour bought a V2 late last year. He was promised delivery at the end of February...still waiting.

I admire all riders in the upper echelon, but watching Toprak ride the wheels of whatever he is on just makes you (me) feel alive. To be that gifted and courageous is truly awe-inspiring. I won't post the SBK results, but the Supersport top ten results follow. You have been warned.

FYI, little Bayliss finished outside of the top 20.

New manufacturers were at least in the top ten albeit 10-15 seconds behind .... can only get better with more races and track time

Topshelf will be at Yamaha MotoGP next year .... Honda are supposedly already hunting Fabio and he is not happy with the M1

Yep, good to see the non-Japanese bikes making a fist of it. As you say, they can only get better and the governing body will want them bunched up. Great to see a Ducati racing in the Supersport class. I kinda wish Ducati would make a bike to race in the 300SSP class too. Maybe bring back the 400SS from the 1990's?

Supersport Leaderboard. Formatting display issue, but MV in 5th and Triumph in 6th. Oncu (Kawasaki) unlucky in race 2 and retired from 3rd. Little Bayliss finished inside the top 20 (just) in race 2.

SBK in Assen this weekend. Will @Jo Verhelst be attending to watch Ducati racing in two of the three main classes? Will Toprak, Rea or Bautista walk away with the points lead? Let the Assen fun and games begin (soon).

And, only 2 months until the MotoGP circus shows up for its turn at the circuit.

Well, Rea really is the king of Assen. The below image isn't linked to anything, but you can eventually find highlights on YT. Rinaldi's crash in the superpole race was reminiscent of MV stepping off in Austria a few years back.

Interesting 2nd race ..... great to see Lecuona doing the business
Hopefully a few outside the top 3 can mix it with them up front in the future

Yes, that was an interesting race. The whole weekend was 'interesting'. Bautista seems to be approaching his 2022 campaign with a bit more focus on consistantancy and playing the long game. If he keeps this up, he could walk away with the championship and Ducati's first for a long time. I will post the results a little later in the week, but here's the championship standings after Assen.
