I don't think he's complained to the council yet.
He was walking past on the weekend when we were seeing off some visitor's and he stopped and talked for a few minute's.
My wife asked him what hour's he worked and mentioned that i had to do some work (cutting and grinding) on my trailer to finish it off over the next week and he said yeah that's fine, he didn't say anything about keeping the noise down.
I think he may have spoken with other's about it and they've told him it was ok to do what i'm doing too.

I could line up about 8 bike's down the fence line and have them all running at once, plus my name sake

Well i haven't heard a complaint for a while now.
I've been doing a bit more each week to my trailer and it's almost finished now

Here it is before i started, it's a 7x5 ex Jim's Mowing trailer that was pretty rusty, floor had some hole's also along the bottom section's of the side's.
There were a couple of bigger hole's in a 2 of the floor cross brace's, and the white paint job was done with house paint
That sheet of metal in the floor is copper, so that can go to scrap metal for a few $$ off my original purchase price :thumb_ups:

So i cut the rusty floor out and found that the rust extended to the chassis rail's,
so everything from the spring/drawbar up went and i started again

    I decided to make it into an 8x5, i have plenty of 38mmx 38mm x 2.4mm and 38mmx 38mm x 3mm square tube

I seem to have lost a few in between pic's somewhere, but here's where it's currently at

Did some work modifying and fixing my 10yo's scooter 1/4 pipe this arvo, spent maybe 2 hour's all up, finished by 5.30pm

My wife got home just before 6pm and my neighbour was straight over and complaining before she even got out the car.
This has got to stop he said, it's been good lately but today wasn't, his wife had the day off work and had to shut the door to stop the noise.
He also complained about the fume's ? I used my 7" sander with a 36 grit sanding disc to remove some paint, next cut the steel with the angle grinder and 1mm disc, and then welded it with the mig, not sure where the fume's came from ?
I wasn't going at it hammer and tong's, i had break's in between doing section, i only made noise for a few minute's when i did as well.
All i have left to do now is smooth out some weld's, cut a couple of bit's of plywood, paint the frame (by brush with hammertone enamel) then screw the wood to it.
He said he want's to be able to relax on the weekend's, and doesn't want to be bothered by noise.

I wonder if i should leave a couple of pair's of ear plug's in his letterbox ?

What is him speaking to your wife going to accomplish?? Does your neighbour think she keeps your balls in her purse or something??

If it were me, I'd be telling your neighbour exactly where he can take his whinging and file a harassment complaint with the council and coppers.

Nice 1/4 pipe... I never quite got the hang of skateboards...

Dunno why he spoke with her and not me, i would have been reasonable with him.

That 1/4 pipe was twice the height it is now, apparently i made it too tall when i built it 6 months ago, even though he said it was good.
I cant balance on a skateboard either.

Was just thinking about what i can do, Morphettville Racecourae is 10 m8ns down the road from here, there's always heaps of bags of horse manure out for people to take.
I might grab a few bags and fertilise the garden along the fence!
Don't know if i could handle the smell though, lol

@my67xr - the fertilised garden is an absolute winner and it might be time to lodge a complaint with both the police and council because it sounds to me like they are just looking for things to complain about and it's not going to improve without some pushback

Ask your neighbour how he thinks this should be fairly resolved. Anything unfair push him to explain how that is fair to you.

Let him figure out for himself that you're not trying to annoy him you're just living your life, which you are perfectly entitled to do. And him complaining about it isn't really going to motivate you to do anything different.

    I've done it again !!
My bbqs' 2x side shelve's were alway's coming loose when i needed to move it around to use it, they are only held on by 4x self tapper's at each end.
I took them off this morning and welded them to the main frame of the bbq,
after welding i cleaned up the weld's with a 7" sanding disc, then went over that with some 180 grit paper to feather the edge's out.
Then i moved the bbq over onto the lawn on the other side of my shed so it was further away from his place before i did anything else.
I gave the shelve's a light buzz back with some 320 dry sand paper and the random orbital sander, then masked up the main part of the bbq and put a light coat of etch primer over the area's where i had welded.
Let that dry and then gave a dusting with black to help the paint stick, then gave the 2x shelve's 2x wet coat's of black engine enamel, (left it 10 min's between coat's)
Total painting time was 5 minute's at the most.
The wind was blowing a little which i thought would help get rid of the smell and was changing directions every now and then.

My neighbour stuck his head over the fence and called out to me and said i have to stop painting (was doing the second coat) and said i am not allowed to paint outside.
I told him my wife wouldn't like it if i painted the bbq inside, he said come on and that the paint fume's were going into his house.
Told him i was almost finished, and he said it can't keep happening,
then as he climbed down from his chair as he walked away he said that he has given me enough chance's and was going to ring the council about it.
I said ok thank's, and finished painting the last coat on the shelf.
I took a picture of the bbq over on the lawn so i could show the guy from the local council when he come's around for a visit,
it's about 7 metre's away from our fence and my double car shed is in between the bbq and fence as well.

I wonder if your neighbor likes Metallica at 2am, or move your fire pit near his fence and burn off all your green waste I.

Seriously though , he needs to pull his head in

The garden along our fence is looking a bit dry, so i bought $15 worth of fun, i mean fertiliser/compost.

Bloke I used to know had a winging neighbour so when he complained mate would start his lawnmower, give it full throttle and park it next to the fence under the neighbour's window until it ran out of petrol. :lolsign:

the fertiliser is a winning tactic as long as the smell doesn't drive you bonkers in the process

time to file a complaint against him - vexatious complainant - he obviously needs to learn some boundaries and be taught to respect them
