Hey guys! I dropped my bike the other day for the first time <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

Luckily it did minimal damage (i think..)

Can someone tell me what this plate is covering? Is it a problem that I have cracked it? And where's the best place to find a replacement?

The bike is still running as per usual, and isn't leaking any oil or other fluids.

ah no its not a such problem man its the cover for the magnet and coil it dont effect alot but replace it if u find new i have 2 spare ones from damaged fzr buti live in lebanon too far from u anyway this cover is like a defence for the coil and magnet they produce electricity for the buike and charging process but the problem if its broken alot in a way that in rainy weather water is able to get inside it may damage for u the coil because coil=electricity and electricity and water are enemies so u have to amek sure that water and dusts are not able to get inside the hole

Thanks for your response Jad! Can you tell me what this cover called? Is it a magneto cover? I'll have to search on the internet for a place where I could find one in good condition...

Anyone in Australia know where I might find one?

Try your yamaha dealer for a magneto cover at about $85
