    Hmm.. not as easy as it sounds. I'll look around who knows I may have some luck. Worst case is I need a new cylinder head... that will hurt the pocket.

    Hmm.. How hot would a valve stem get guys? I'm eyeing off this JB weld stuff, heat resistant up to 260 degrees C and pretty strong with a lot of reviews. Maybe that's the answer, no way I'm going to find another head (or components) easily (or cheaply)... :idk:

    If ya head got to 260 I think u could grab a surf board an ride the waves however I would be cautious about trying to bond anything incase it breaks

    Machine shop will be able to make you one stu..if not genuine part number you need for it is 12932-05C00 if its the same as the gsxr 250r one (that's 99pc sure m8 but not certain)..common part across many models..try this link http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/suzuki/SP-12932-05C00.html There not that hard to do but fiddly due to their size..the only tools u'll need mate are a valve guide remover and a valve guide reamer..its easier if you heat the head up a bit in the oven but I don't bother..just remember to lube up the stem holes of every guide before driving the guide in and you should be fine..for a shop to do it you'd probably be looking at about £30 over here or it'll take about half an hour to do yourself if you haven't done one before..thinking about it if you don't have the tools I'd go to your local workshop as if you try and improvise by making them quite often you can do more damage than good mate..

    try this guy as he's in aus m8.. http://trevorjordanmotorcycles.com.au/oemonline/suzuki_search.php ..you'll need to go for select model gsx250f as the model, 1996, then select 'camshaft/valve' scroll down to the part you need there au $2 each mate :):) just double check the part numbers marry up as I don't want you after me for breaking the bank lol..that's deffo cheaper than JB weld too!!! :)

    ..forgot that last link is a good place to source most gsx250f (across) stuff as all the parts diagrams are online guys :)

    Si, appreciate the help mate but you've sent me a couple of links for the keepers. I have kept all those, so I don't need them. The parts diagram doesn't seem to show the valve stem itself, on top of which sits the oil seal. It does show the oil seal though (item 16).

    Hiya m8..just logged in..not sure what the links show but I've just clicked on them and there coming up with what I initially thought u wanted ie the broken part in the pictures..which looks to me like a valve guide..basics are bucket, shim, valve guide, valve retainer spring, oil seal and valve itself..though this is based on strip downs of the 73a..i'm thinking that the across 72/73a must be running a slightly different set up to yours? this puzzles me though as its pretty much standard across the mc22 honda gsxr zxr and fzr , across.(you can actually get away with using the same stem seals just about lol)..some pics may be the order of the day boss! If the part u want/need isn't in that microfische on the link or in the oem parts manual or oem service guide then I can only assume that it must be unique to the bandit..hard to believe with all the similarities between models but I've heard of more weird things lol..anyways back to the issue at hand..in the absence of a part ref no as there's no manual specific to your bike..i'd deffo take it to the local machine shop as the valve guide is pretty basic to manufacture..so long as its softer than the valve it wont do any harm so long as the clearance is within tolerances and the valve is within spec..sos I cant be of more help m8 :( I know your tempted by that jb weld stuff but the forces on the valve guide at peak revs will be immense..plus vibration and heat..i wouldn't want to work out the mean valve speed at that sort of rpm its that high..only advice but I cant see a bonding agent being better than a genuine Suzuki part..can I ask is your valve train (top down from bucket/shim etc) different from those on the microfisches? Reason I ask is that many parts have been upgraded over the last four or five years and parts no's superceeded.. I rebuilt a 250 bandit the year before last and it was pretty much identical bar the cams and a different ignition curve and carb set up..but the basic mechanicals were the same...
    Wishing you luck with this one boss..has someone had a go previously???

    Wouldn't the guide be in the picture of the head casting?
    As Simon said (lol), a good machine shop should be able to make or modify on for you.
