They sell for 6k+ dont they in reasonable nick?
They should have said "barn find" so they could double the asking price.
@amct77 .... not near u though
This showed up as an eBay ad on Gumtree, and since @kiffsta bought one, I thought I'd just put this 2007 model with 4500km on the odometer and a couple of boxes of spare parts up here... :-D
Engine light is on and it is in limp mode, triumphs are sensitive about certain things in their electronics, might be minor, might not.
Wow.. now that one is a risk if the bidding gets much higher..
Go around with a scan tool and sus it out. But you'd think the seller would have done that already. Must be a thousand-dollar fix.
Anyone want to build a cafe racer?
2fiftycc Nostalgia drag bike project right there. Just need it to run and somewhere to sit. Light weight wheels and low resistance drum brakes...perfect. It is pre-1980 yes?
That's an RD250, right? That's worth looking at. Quick, before someone else snatches it up
Hehehe. Safe for beginners.
I've seen this for sale for a while, now.
I think a 400 would be cool. This is the 1984-6 model (there was a new model in 86 that had square headlight before returning to twin round, I think it that would be rare), much the same as the '85 gsx-r750, I believe. This is a goer, needs some love, but it's an original series. Is it not that good? Why isn't it sold? Your learned comments appreciated, especially warnings, before I talk myself into a purchase plan...
This was my research.
Seems cheap but, missing blinkers, mismatched paint, torn seat and its been out in the weather for a while. Be prepared to spend at least another $1500 to $2000 to bring it up to scratch. And according to the site you posted it is not a GSXR from 1986, wrong frame.
It's the early 86, the GK71F starts about March. I had a look at 400 supersport bikes and there's this, a couple of fzr400 projects ($1500-2000), an older nc24 vfr400 @$2000 and a bunch of vfr/rvf400 for $5-8k. 8-o
Oh, and this:
Tell him he's dreamin'
I'd love to Shane, but too many projects at the moment. I'd buy it if @GreyImport or one of the Tamworth crew could store it until I could get to it. @Murdo is already storing a bike for me, so unfair to ask him to start a special "Frankster" section of his garage. I'm not a 2-stroke person, so I'd need Murdo or one of the other oil-burner experts to help get the engine running right.
