hi there, I recently picked up an 81’ gsx250. This is my first bike and I’m new to mechanics etc.

I took the stator cover off to have a look inside and found oil leaked out.

my mate who knows his bikes told me it’s an oil cooled stator.

where do I refill that oil, dipstick?, lean the bike over?

if it’s obvious sorry but I’m a noobie

    Welcome Kieran.

That 'oil' is the same oil used by your engine and clutch. I wasn't sure what you were asking when you said 'where do I refill that oil?'.

Your best bet is to join this forum and download the manual for your bike from our RESOURCES section (see image below). That will tell you exactly how much oil your bike takes and what grade to use. Ask any questions you want from the forum members.

    Cheers

The dipstick is on the right side of the engine. The oil level is measured with the dipstick unscrewed, just resting on the engine case. IMGP0408 (1).JPG
