For >%~<€% sake would people stop over tightening the oil filter bolt on the bottom of their spadas!!!!!!!!! Spent an afternoon removing a horribly overtightened and mangled filter bolt that has now been re filed, from a 12mm bolt to an 11mm bolt, by hand! The factory specifies 13 foot pounds for the filter and 27 foot pounds for the oil drain bolt. Many, many sumps are regularly cracked by overzealous folk thinking tightest possible must be best. Having oil dripping onto the back wheel from a cracked sump makes for interesting handling characteristics that even the mighty SPADA may be unsettled by. Photo of my pile of highly valuable cracked SPADA sumps. (And no, not a poorly engineered, fragile part, just not idiot proof)
They can be repaired. That’s why they aren’t in the bin. When I run out of good ones that’s exactly what will happen.
