20220510_113158.jpg Decided NOT to sell it! I recently dragged it out of storage (after 15 years) and was considering selling it (as I'm buying something newer)... but decided instead to keep and restore it (it's still all original/stock and in running/rideable order even after 15 years stationary... new battery and new fuel and fired into life very quickly!). Time for a strip-down service!

Just ordered an AGM Battery for the SRX... I was considering the SSB Lithium but it isnt worth it for the SRX... when the CB40 needs a new one I will probably go that route...
I had to pull the LH switchblock apart on the CB400 today... I took it out yesterday to go and vote at the furthest Booth in the Electorate... Ended up a nice 30 minute ride in the bitter cold...and the Indicator switch was almost seized solid..
Slipped it off.. freed it all up and gave it a nice coating of Dielectric grease..... it is smooth as silk now :)

I was actually able to pick up most of the chrome work for the SL125 today... the only part still to be done is thee original Handlebar.. I currently have a cheap aftermarket set on it... The original 50 year old item is far superior and will be easy to throw on ance it it finished... It only took 6 months for this stuff to be done... but he did a great job.
It is all done "old School style", any repairs needed are done and smoothed and then copper plated prior to the choming.... still stuff wil last another 50 years.

ZXR250C drag bike is coming along. Wheeled her out of the shed today (between showers) and fired her up. Wife was meant to take a video of me doing a burnout on it, but she took a picture instead. I have another engine (ZXR250A) that I need to get running properly so I can try running the bike with both motors to see what, if any, difference the different engines make to performance. I will use one of these engines in my new Salt Bike. If anyone thinks this bike is a bit low, that's because I am playing around with ride height, trail and sag settings. I need to find a way to get my guts out of the way so I can tuck down on this thing.

It would have to be quite a bit smaller.

Yep. Pretty low, but it looks ok from a general attitude point of view.

Washed my nuts, blew my nuts off, and torqued my nuts. Also new q3+ on the rear to go with the chain and sprocket replacement. 919 has over 44k mi on it and plenty dirty so I took my team cleaning up as much as I can with the rear wheel off and chain/sprockets out of the way. I swear she dropped close to a pound of chain wax/grit just from digging all of the crap out from behind the counter shaft sprocket. If you've wanted a reason to move away from wax, I'd say this is it. I've since switched to teflon based chain lubrication which should keep the gunk from building up nearly as fast. 919 sees more dirt miles than some ADV bikes so I like the comfort of knowing I don't have grit collector on my chain these days.

Added another bandit project to my collection today thanks to Matt.
That makes two now and one bare frame spare. In the process of getting a 45hp one in nsw

Cut the chain 1 link to short for the 919. :mad:She may sit on the lift for another month at this rate.

Is that for a standard length? If so, you can try moving the axle adjusters all the way forward and re-check. You might be able to take one more link it and have it usable. Bonus - slightly shorter wheelbase and more adjustments before replacement

Adjusters were set all the way forward before cutting. It came out at 3/4" slack which is ~1/2" out of spec.

I thought something seemed odd. I've never had these kinds of issue with replacing the chain on the 919 with stock gearing and +1 front. Posted a pic to my buddy about cutting it too short. He said "that seems like a weird sprocket combo for the 919." Picked up a new chain earlier, pulled the old one off. Started messing with the tension before I cut it and it's at the 3rd notch on the adjuster before it's near spec. WTF?! Tracked down the order. I ordered 16/43 (stock) and got 16/49.:headbang:
