I believe you paid more than asking for the sv650 with the clutch switch problem and for an incomplete fzr250...
Out for a ride, first nice sunny Saturday in weeks. New tyres scrubbed in, and a smile on my dial. Sitting at pie in he sky eating some lunch and looking at all the bikes
first fine day since the texas ride so got the hornet out to see if new speedo drive cog and oiling the cable would work.it did!
Gixxer is back together ,’I took it for a spin and it rode quite well, I will put it up for sale shortly as a project bike.
Finally ended up with the right sized master cylinder kit..rebuilt and bleed the front brake for the 3rd time..so far no leaks ...touch wood
went for a ride to gloucster[spelt wrong] yesterday on the hornet. speedo worked well.ride was with the vjmc club. visited a members shed where i viewed some suzuki hustlers, cl450 and a 500t honda,s and a suzuki ag bike.top weather and enjoyable company. all the bikes viewed were from late 60,s and early 70,s.
Didn’t do too much today dues to the cold and the pain from my knee. I did get most of the bearings out of the engine cases but there are 2 blind bearings that my pilot bearing puller wouldn’t budge. Seems the little hook end doesn’t seat well enough because of the slight chamfer on the inner diameter I might have to grind the legs a bit so they can get more bite. I will try that tomorrow and if it doesn’t work I will worry about it after they are machined for the 350cc barrel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Heating the cases (until a match stick will burn when sat on the alloy) and smack them flat on a wooden bench will usually get them to drop out.
What Murdo said or run a bead of weld around the inside of the outer race. As it cools it will contract and they will fall out. Another way is to weld a nut to the inner race and use a slide hammer (best to use this method if you are not real good at welding).
semi bike related .... future bike hauler .... what a ***** of a job replacing/updating the suspension/bearings and 'new' wheels/tyres .... old home made trailer .... new bushes were labeled " Rear shackle bush Holden 1960 on" thankfully had a mates big shed to work in ..... tough environment
I put special Tool "Webber Q2200" to work and after about 10 minutes the remaining blind bearings fell out. All good to go now for the machining. Might get over there later on tomorrow.
