    Ey up,

Looking for some replacement fork tubes for my FZR250, mine have rusted and look to have some deep scores and pits on them.

Can anyone recommend where I can get some at a reasonable price?

    Thanks in advance!

eBay usually has them for cheaper-than-OEM price. You could also try Alibaba. There is also this epoxy stuff where you sand the stanchions, fill the pits with epoxy and sand it smooth. Buff it up and presto, fixed.

Have you given any thought to getting your fork tubes re-chromed ???
I have no idea what the price would be in the UK, worth looking into.

Thanks for your comments. Just been on the phone to a company I found on google who supply the Italian fork tubes for my bike http://www.brooksuspension.co.uk/yamaha-fzr250-fork-inner-tube-or-stanchion-87-94.html I called them to confirm a few things and they advised they are £112.49 per tube including vat. Funnily enough the lady on the phone also mentioned rechroming which I haven't heard of before, they also offer that service for £139 a pair. Not sure what I'm going to do yet as Id like to find out more info about this rechroming business but at least I have found some tubes if rechroming doesn't go to plan. Thanks again!

We have hard rechromers here in Oz. They strip the chrome (de-chrome) back to bare metal, straighten if necessary, fill any pits/scratches, centreless grind to the correct size and rechrome them with hard chrome (not decrative chrome, it is too soft and will wear quickly) and polish to finished size. Costs around A$200 per leg.
