On the subject of the fuel tap ..... the Honda small engine one fits how I want .... has a mounting point and simple on/off ..... Ill connect the twin tank outlet to it with a t barb

I found a few others but they dont have a mounting point

Just rub a bit off the end of the P and you will have your F.

Are you going to run it with the EXUP or delete it? If it is a drag bike and not a road runner then there isnt really any need for the EXUP is there?

I am going to try without it initially .... the exhaust is obviously straight thru , and I have some wacky ideas to try for the intake side of things also
The EXUP supposedly evens out the RPMs around 6 or 7 grand I think it is .... but we shall see what straight up WOT every gear brings :D

The EXUP provides more torque and smooth torque from idle to 10,000RPM. I would leave it.

Yamaha was the first to develop such a system, called the Exhaust Ultimate Power Valve (EXUP). It first appeared on the Yamaha FZR EXUP and was later used on many other Yamahas.

It changes exhaust tuning as rpm increases. Many highly tuned 4-stroke engines with four-into-one exhaust systems have a flat spot in the mid-range, precisely where the sporting rider needs instantaneous throttle response. This flat spot is caused by positive resonance pressure waves forcing the spent exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber during the valve "overlap" period (when both intake and exhaust valves are open). These exhaust gases dilute the incoming intake mixture, decreasing performance significantly… causing a flat spot or bog. This generally occurs only in the mid-rpm range. At other engine speeds, the positive pressure wave arrives when the exhaust valve is closed and therefore cannot dilute the intake mixture.

The EXUP system features a computer-controlled butterfly valve located in the exhaust system to regulate the exhaust pressure waves. The EXUP system regulates the flow of positive and negative pressure waves in the system to improve cylinder scavenging at all engine speeds. The wedge-shaped valve is located at the downstream end of the 4 header pipes where they enter the exhaust collector. The valve is operated by a servomotor and is regulated by the ignition computer.

Sensitive to engine speed, the EXUP valve is almost entirely closed at low rpm and gradually opens to permit unrestricted gas flow at high rpm. Improvements include smoother and quieter idle, more power at all rpms, significant low-range and mid-range torque increases, and higher gas mileage. By gradually opening the valve as revs increase, the positive wave in the mid-range is eliminated, yet the exhaust system can "breathe" fully at high revs for maximum power.

For drag racing, I would think the EXUP wouldn't matter.

Going nowhere ..... Im only working on the road bike as the rego is nearly lost .... once the real deal insulated shed is built then there will be some progress .... I have to, in the near future, pack up everything in the current shed and pull it down .... :commando:

Where on earth are you going to put everything to pull that shed down???
You almost need another shed or storage facility for when you build the mega shed.. :)

I assume you have sorted out Tamworth Council :)

Thats the challenge ... I have nowhere to put the tools , bench , bikes and all the other stuff
Im planning to erect that shed at the back fence to put all the parts and junk so as not to fill the new space with crap.

The second hurdle is the council ... the distances between the new shed and the house and the boundary line are under the regulation .... which they say could entail "fire rated walls' :headbang:

I also have to fix a boat trailer so as to get my boat out of the yard .... and eventually get 2 trailers out of the way....... and Ive already started removing trees and gardens

So, is the current shed going where the other 2 smaller storage sheds are or behind the house?

Is it much of an issue to lose 1 metres from the new shed (not knowing how much is an issue with the Council) to eliminate the “fire rated wall” threat.
    Them suckers are expensive.

Yea it will go at the back where I was originally going to put it but I didnt have any money for a small slab at the time

The current slab is 6x6 and approved so thats what the garage will be .... I dont deal with authority or people in high places in a very pleasant way if they piss me about ...... the next door neighbours recently had a garage built and the side wall is even closer to the boundary than mine would be... and the house next to it is very close too , whereas theres only the neighbours driveway in my situation

They went thru a private company to have the DA done and also approved as they have an ex council building inspector doing it ..... so this is what Ill be doing ... someone independent , as the garage place has already suggested just making everything smaller ... they just want your money.

Having the slab there already and approved is my biggest asset in the battle

Yep... these days you have to go the route of the Private Approver etc... it doesnt mean you will get a better building (Homebush multi story apartments prove that) but it will go through easier.. I hope it all goes through quickly for you.. :)

@GreyImport It has been some time since I dealt with council/regs, but I thought you could build to the fence line with a fire rated wall. Might be worth laying some extra concrete to the fence line and making the final shed even bigger.

Yea slab is only .4m from the widest point now ... (900mm is the standard min)... even less I think at the front as its not square with the boundary line .... its 1.5m from the house ... min is 1.8 so Ive been told
Theres bound to be some way to do it all .... but Ive no doubt that includes many more $$$$$

Different Councils and States have different requirements.. the only problem with building to the fence line is if the fence needs to be replaced at some point.. not sure if that fence is timber or metal.. besides.. who wants a floor join inside a really nice shed.. just allows weeds to grow and small items to fall down roll along and into the join... never to be seen again :)
