Spent some time today patching up the dash assembly that got chucked down the road during the accident.
Made up some little aluminium foam retention buttons as the plastic ones came off second best in the accident. I think they better suit the period for the original 1960's theme as well. The dial surrounds are still sporting a few little blemishes unfortunately. But hardly noticeable in real life (the camera picks up all the imperfections). A lot of glue on the back though to piece it all back together.

Been slowly beavering away on repairing my little RC162-ACE after my accident at Broadford 12 months ago.

I am thinking about taking it to the Broadford Bike Bonanza in April for some display laps. Not sure what I will do with it then. If someone was to show some serious interest in it, I might be able to be convinced to part with it. It certainly would put my wife more at ease.
Here are some detailed pics, post repair, to inspire others to build something similar.
Genuine interested individuals should PM me.
    Peter.

Pete, would you have a spare fuel cap to suit the skyteam ace tank , I'll be (hopefully) needing one eventually

Sorry Tiny, only got one cap with bike that I purchased. Have you tried hooking up with skyteam ace forum guys. Have a bit of a search for the group on Facebook.
    Peter.

Broadford Bike Bonanza this weekend (Easter). Just organising a few last minute things to take up with me.
I am also taking my little road CBR250RR to display and get around on (not on the track though). That way I can leave my van set up beside my bike(s). I am under very strict instructions from the boss to take it easy.
I have tweaked the carb settings again (fixed a suspect flow issue through the tap and lifted the needles), so hoping that I do not need to make any adjustments at the event. I can then just enjoy cruising around and talking to the other bike enthusiasts. If any one from the forum rocks along, please take the time to say hello.
    Peter.

I'm sorry to hear that Peter, but I completely understand. It's a magnificent little bike and whoever buys it will have a lovely bike to add to their collection. Having seen her in the flesh, I can confirm that you have spared no expense and your attention to detail is without question. Often, I find some rare bike builds look good from afar, but are far from good. Yours is not one of these.

Personally, I think it's such a rare/unique build that you might be better off looking at Shannons online auctions or something similar for rare bikes. Since Covid forced Shannons to go online only for all their auctions, I've noticed heaps more bikes and most get what they're quoted or above. Given yours is a runner and you have the pics to prove it, I'd give them a call to see what they think it's worth.

@Frankster I even went to the trouble of purchasing a new helmet for the event to fit with the period look.

Would anyone happen to have an MC19 front brake master cylinder that they do not need. Mine has a corner ground off. IMG20220425123035.jpg

One of my friends has replaced his because it was leaking. Give me a couple of days to catch him to find out what he did with the old one.

Looks like I need to get on with completing the repairs to my little RC rep.
My son has plans to run it at the Geelong Speed trials later in the year.
If anyone knows of a suitable fairing, I might make an attempt to fit one before then.

Have a look for Peel Full Fairing on the net.
