    G'day Guys,

I just wondered if anyone can help me, I have recently painted the frame, swing arm, stands etc on my GSX250. (bare metal then rattle can primer and enamel paint)

The finish is ok but I do have some texture on the paint (not super silky smooth), my question is

    1. Will cutting polish sort this out and if this works is it best to clear coat after this
(it doesnt look that bad right now but if I can improve things its always a bonus)

*right now its sitting at 4 or 5 coats*

Any advice would be great guys and as always thanks for all your help :)

What colour is the paint ?
If it's a metallic then all you can do is to 2 pack clear coat it, or KBS Diamond finish, both are available in aerosol's from automotive paint shop's.
If it is just a straight colour then you could polish it but generally an enamel wont look as good as it was wet off the gun.
If you let it dry for a week or more (maybe longer in this sort of weather), you could scuff it back and flatten the paint, then give it another final wet coat

Yeah it should be fine doing that, just check on the can if there's any note's on recoating

Once it's rubbed back with 600 wet and dry so it's all smooth dry it off well,
when you repaint it give it a light coat first, let it dry for 10 min's then give it a heavier wet coat but not heavy enough to get run's etc

Rattle can paint can lack a lot of the toughness you want. Thinners and other solvents can lift it, including petrol. If it cures properly, you should be ok - enamel cures rather than merely drying like acrylic. Cool, moist air can upset spray paint very easily, too.

Sanding is going to be a tough job, good luck with it.

Also, you can get 2pak in aerosol nowadays

Aerosol 2 Pak for frames is an expensive exercise (ask me how I know).
They are set up for a fairly wide spray pattern to kind of replicate a spray gun but without the adjustability... so you end up with more overspray. I used 2 cans for SL125 frame and really could have used a 3rd so personally I wouldnt go down that track.
Maybe the clear will be different, I havent used my can yet but it wont be used on a frame anyway... just my 2 cents worth

Hmmm maybe I'll just leave the finish as is, to be honest alot of its covered when the bike is assembled and it's not that bad in my eyes ha ha ha

Nothing wrong with that finish... probably would have had as much Orange Peel from the factory anyway :)
