    Hey all,

Just wanted to say gday. I've inherited a 1980's CBX250 from a friend who was going to send it to the tip. Never built a bike before but have signed up at rising sun workshop in Newtown and i'm gonna give it a shot!

Wish me luck, I'll need it.

Welcome. You picked a good bike for your first build. I'm assuming you're going to make it into a cafe racer or bobber? Looks like your mate already cut the frame.

Yeah its going to be cafe style, not a resto haha. I'll just make it work and fun to ride.

For anyone getting one of these, geez the spark plug is a bugger! Its 11/16ths but the socket needs to be ground down to be thin enough to fit between the cam covers!

You may have some issues trying to register the bike. I'm not in NSW, but I know there are rules about modifying frames etc that might require an engineers certificate or similar. Maybe some of the NSW forum members can comment on the local rules. Good luck.

No problem. Did you get the bike also . The one you have already would be great for spares. There getting hard to find in stock trim.

Nah, i wont get the bike, this is not a resto project. I'm going to make it run, make it fun, and if it ends up being a frankensteins monster I'll probably be quite pleased! Great to see there are still original ones out there. Ill have some parts left over from this build that i will put on gumtree once i'm sure i am not going to use them, mirrors and light lenses etc.
