Gidday, don't know if you are still following this thread, but I'm wondering what air screw setting you settled on in the end? The reference in this thread shows 1 3/4.
Just some background info if you are interested:
I have a '98 Balius which has had an earlier '93 motor swapped in (ZX250CE 048632). So the standard '98 carbs have the setup of 32 pilot, 95 main, N77V needles, I guess to meet the 40hp limitation. Looking through various info the impex and magazip microfiche and this forum, the A1- A6 models to 1996 had 38 pilot, 98 mains, N76X needles, so richer all round.
At the moment all I have to hand is what came to with the bike: 32 pilot, N77V needles shimmed up 1.5mm (richer), 95 mains, 2 3/4 air screw (richer). The bike also came with hotter CR8E plugs rather than CR9E. The previous owner said it ran OK with those parts although performance was lacking.
I've put in the correct plugs because I don't want to risk running hotter plugs.
I'm going to order the keyster kit to get the correct parts when the family budget lines up a window of opportunity! ($250 AU for 4 kits delivered).
I have ordered the litetek seals though, because the air box seals are shrunk and hard to keep in place, and I suspect the o-rings are close to done.
I'll tune my air screws as per the litetek site method anyhow when I get a chance.
    Regards, Mike
