Hello all, I need help really bad! my carbies are all shite, and my mechanic needs to know specs to do his job properly. i have had some specs given to me but they were for a 3ln. I have a 2kr, so when we looked at the carbs, none of the info matched what we were looking at. so can anyone help me? i need all the jet and needle sizes for either 88 or 89 fzr 2kr(non deltabox with exup). this is my last resort. i cannot find information for these bikes ANYWHERE. Just a suggestion - have you tried your yamaha dealer?? They have most of this info on computer these days. I have been able to buy various genuine parts thru them.. The Zeal shares parts with the FZR as well.. Worth a try..
that has been tried. no help from them. maybe they just cant be stuffed as they wont make money from doing it. ill have to see what tomorrow brings, and hopefully either myself or the bike shop can get some info. since i bought this bike it has been in the garage for longer than not. its sending me nuckin futs! i wanna ride!!!
There was a japanese pdf manual floating around. The download page from exupbrotherhood doesn't work right now, but if you can find it, downlaod CH4 for the carb. It has a break down diagram of the carbs and spec and jet sizes. here's the table for spec and jet sizes from what I can translate (of course it helps if you can get the diagram as well): 2kr engine idle: 1600rpm Jet needle: 4DV1 needle clip: 3rd clip from bottom pilot screw: 3 turns main nozzle: N-8 pilot jet: #15 (#17.5 for 88-89 w/ exup according to a shop who has access to the genuine parts catalogue, my non exup is #15, so I cannot confirm the size for exup) main jet: 72.5 starter jet: GS1 17.5 GS2 0.5 float height: 17.5 - 19.5 mm vacuum: 145mmHG @ 1600rpm CO: 3.5 - 4.5% @ 1600rpm
