When I repaired the cracked fairings on my VT250 I used some bits of ABS from another old Honda fairing cut into thin strips with a jigsaw and melted into shape with the soldering iron.

My new windscreen arrived yesterday, sadly it's in 3 piece's.
I messaged the seller and sent him some pic's, i got a refund on it.
I might be able to do something with it, try gluing it back together maybe ?
Noticed the mirror hole's aren't in the right spot's either, they're 20mm too far forward too?

Here the front wheel has been soda blasted, and the outer lip's are polished
Now i'm masking it up to etch, and paint

The Chinese sellers sell their windscreens as covering all 3LNs .... they are 3LN1 screens .... later models are a different setup

    Here's my cleaned up / painted disc's,
may have been the reason, or the final straw that brought my neighbour over for a chat today maybe?
see this thread- Whinging / Whining Neighbour's:lolsign:

Gave them a quick grit blast this morning to remove the light surface rust from the discs' hub's, then etched and painted them with Duplicolor bright blue ? caliper paint inside and out, also scuffed the disc pad area and painted the disc bolt's with some high temp silver

    Thank's
The FZR is slowly changing to suit my taste.
I called into a signwriter shop the other day to get a rough price for a custom reflective stripe
I have an idea to make the stripe's like the one's on the bike below, but reflective blue where black is (top and bottom stripe's and slanted box's through the midddle) and the white part's would be done in reflective silver or white, and i'll make some reflective FZR sticker's for the back and also some reflective blue EXUP sticker's to replace the lower centre silver one's
Just for the reflective side stripe's, the signwriter said around $390 supplied and fitted, i told him i'd have to think about it
I think i'll have a go at it myself, i've done a few stripe's before, the material's will cost me under $30 so it's worth a try

I could do something similar to this style too

I took the bike for a ride up through the hill's today, perfect weather.
Went up Belair rd (Windy Point rd) from the bottom through the twistys to Belair, it was good being able to lean the bike a bit around all the corner's.
The road goes up the side of the hill and goes up about 250m from bottom to top.
    https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/...d545069ebd105!2m2!1d138.6156653!2d-34.9998472

This is the view from the lookout half way up, the green patch in the background is Adelaide Airport,
second pic if you squint real hard you can sort of see a couple of tall building's between the tree's

    20160817_130410.jpg 20160817_130440 (1).jpg

Then i went up further into the hill's through Blackwood, Upper Sturt, Stirling and across the freeway and down to Uraidla and Summertown then back past Mount Lofty and back home again.

This is the view from Mount Lofty lookout, elevation 727m above sea level, with little Adelaide in the middle

    L1280469.JPG

I had problem's with the bike at Mount Lofty carpark, is a little bit steep going in and the bike bogged out and stalled, i thought i was out of petrol so turned over it to reserve, it started so i rode up a bit more and it stalled again going into the top car park.
I reckon the float level is out on one or more carb's
Although when i checked it not long ago it was sitting about 9mm above the line on the bowl's
Coming home it was all good till i got to a couple of steep section's where i had to do a hill start changing road's as i was coming into Blackwood, bike bogged badly and i had to pull to the side of the road to get it to clear out by holding it at wot.

The problems you describe are symptoms that myself and @Grasshopper have experienced, prior to changing the emulsion tubes & needles for the new keyster ones. Turning off the fuel tap whenever you come to a stop became a habit, because otherwise if you had to exit a particularly steep carpark, you had no hope even redlining it, it'd just flood and stall.

How do emulsion tube's and needle's get affected by angle though ?

Not sure... but going uphill makes the problem worse. I also had the bike revving higher when leaning right and stalling when leaning left... after doing the needles & tubes + litetek kit, all problems gone... and that was just running with 3 turns out on the pilots, no tuning. It was a completely different bike.

Gravity at work... needles rub on one side of the tube more than the other and wears them out unevenly... that's why they changed the design later using a spring to prevent the needle wearing out the tube more on one side.

When the carby's were apart i sat the biggest drill that's fit in the emulsion tube and i couldn't see any ovalling in the tube, the needle's looked new too besides some stain's
But i'll check them all out again if it still does it after lowering the float height's

Do the old fingernail test on the needles... it'll be obvious if they're worn. Otherwise, maybe you have leaky float valves?

Needle's were all good last time i checked them.

I have just pulled the carb's off again and checked the float level's, all were close on 14mm so someone has played with them before.
This is interesting as the fuel level's were sitting at 9mm above the centre line on the the bowl's?

I've lowered them back to 16mm and will see what it's like when i get it back together and try it out, if the rain hold's off today...
