    Hey guys,

looking for tips on sources for screws/bolts M10 1.25mm which is metric fine.
Hoping to locate M10 1.25mm 25mm long dome head cap screws with a head height of 5.5mm or less.
Got a set of hex head zinc plated ones from Bomond trading which will suffice for the short term.

I've been on the probolt site - dome head cap screws - priced out 4 plus shipping ~$40 - WOW do they know how to charge...

Was wondering if anyone else can recommend other potential supplier.

I'm going to check Hardware and General in the morning

So these are not OEM Dome head nuts??? I have been checking Megazip for SRX bits that I dont have and I was surprised at what they had... and dismayed at what they didnt have as well...lol

Correct these are not OEM screws, it's for my ZXR forks -> FZR transplant. Standard FZR caliper bolts are tall hex head flange bolts, which are far too high to use from the inside edge of the caliper.

The bolts will be used from inside the caliper (closest) to the disc) to the adapter plate.

Clearance is tight and the hex head bolts I have need to have the head skimmed - stainless button/dome heads would be simpler because the heads are lower (1mm) to begin with and wouldn't rust when I skim the top of the heads.

I might just bite the bullet on those - need to check thread length through the calipers.

I originally started out looking for countersunk - doesn't even seem to exist anywhere in M10 metric fine thread

    Another option,
what if you made the adapter plate's thicker and drill and tap them,
then drill the tread's out of the caliper's so they can be bolted together the other way around ?

Would stainless bolt's be strong enough ?

I trawled the probolt site - pretty much across the board all disc rotor bolts are 8mm, otherwise that style of head would be perfect.
I was hoping to walk out of Bomond with something similar, but because the thread pitch is uncommon they only carry two head types, hex head and socket cap head, which was 10mm high, far too high unfortunately. Both only available in zinc plated...

From some sites I've read, M10 1.25mm is a JIS standard thread which is uncommon, but not unknown to the rest of the world.
The dome/button head is not a JIS standard, so although I can find button dome heads, they seem to be rare in Oz in the M10 fine thread.
More common in the UK though.

    I didn't anticipate this hurdle...

Yep that's the stainless ones, though I wasn't looking at black as the price goes up yet further - I priced 4 bolts ~$27 plus $13 shipping - they're having a lend...

That site looks to be most of the probolt catalogue - better pricing, a shame that those prices aren't available here

In other news I have a new found appreciation for people who advertise their bikes for sale for outrageous prices and list all new probolts through the bike - they basically spent probably a week and a thousand dollars or more on bling

What about trying a ship chandler/sailing boat/outboard motor shop for the stainless bolts.
