i just went to my local kawasaki dealer and took the ninja 300 special edition in lime green for a spin and got a price for the abs edition. $8000 for it, they are getting prices for me for a ventura rack, k&n air cleaner, two brothers exhaust, power commander 5 as well.i love the riding position of the 300 and so much more comfortable to ride then my across, no more sore shoulders for me.

the kwaka 300 ninja is a great bike, i love it

the stock seat is hard a s a rock and there is a slight vibration thru left foot  peg. fix this by cutting up a old car tyre tube, and get a bit about the size of a stamp and left up the left foot peg and shove the rubber between the peg and frame and that will fix that, the seat, get a gel seat insert from ebay

oh yeah, kawaka are getting em a price on the bubble screen too

one of these gel pads will work nicely

not yet.... probably mid to late janurary

i will keep my across.i will keep restoring it in my spare time.my eldest daughter wants it, she can have it.

i love the bolt upright riding position of the ninja 300.im happy to buy it new, if i cant find a local special edition with abs for less then new.and i will happy keep it for 20 years and ride the wheels off the damn thing too.no chicken strips on my across tyres i can assure you and there wont be any on the ninja either.
great little bike for what i want just cruising round town and the occasional ride out of town to cairns or the likes, say 800-900 k round trip and best of all, no more agrevation of my right shoulder.looks like my shoulders are starting to give me hell on bikes same as my two older brothers and i just cant take the slightly forward stance of bikes, even the small amount on the across drives my shoulder to sheer imense amounts of pain to greatly reduce any enjoyment i get out of riding.not fun at all.

however, santa still promises he will being me a new timing chain, tensioner and few other bits to service my across as it has 97,500 kays on it now and getting closer and closer to the 100,000k mark.

misses_ozbiker has given the ninja 300 the seal of approval for purchase as well, so now putting some coins aside for it.i definately want a genuine bubble screen for it from kawasaki and some foam handle grips.i can live with out a power commnder 5, k&n cleaner, slipon and frame sliders.i will be buying the ninja 300 special editon with ABS brakes, retail at $8000

    You wont be sorry

i have clocked 1400k on my ninja 300 and it is so much fun.

I went for a ride with some friends who all have harleys and such and went from ipswich to esk then crowsnest, THEY COULDENT LOSE ME

i just hung on the whole way . Corners were amazing on this bike.. This bike is defernatly an all round commuter and weekend fun stick.

Everytime i get out you cant get the smile off my face.

Personal specs i have done so far
0 to 100 in 5.5 seconds is my best so far still not perfect in gear change with the slipper though(have converted to gp style gearing)
Top speed i have done is 186km/h
does about 220k to a tank when run outside eco and 300-320k when in eco mode

yeah i have test ridden the ninja300, i was gone for over half an hour on it and loved it.theres an amazing amount of poeple who have motorcycles with large amounts of power / cc's who have not got the foggiest idea on how to ride.im stunned at how many people still stop with just their front brake alone.

goto a set of stop lights. anywhere, any city. spend a day there watching motorcycle riders stop and have a luagh at what the majority of the clowns do to stop.very comical stuff, and a very large percentage of them are on open class bikes.

dont let anyone ever try and put it over you cos you have a small bike.learn the right stuff and you can keep them honest.

read some books. my bibles are

    twist of the wrist
wrist of the wrist part 2 by keith code

magic books.i have learnt so much from these 2 books alone. worth their weigh in gold.
plus i love how cheap the parts are for the kwaka 300 and give it a year and there will be aftermarket accessories galore
