    Hi all,
Just bought a Cagiva Mito and will be De-restricting it as part of the rebuild.

Just wanted to know if there are any people out there that have any experience using Open type air filters, such as K&N (i.e. removing the airbox and just having an air filter on the end of the carb)

I have always heard they are a no-no in terms of engine life, but considering the average engine life of one of these 125 2 strokes is only about 10 -12000k, and I clean the filter every 2 -3000k and can get the right jet mixture in the first place, would it matter that much?

    Cheers,
    Doug.

id stick with the stock air box you will loose the rideability in traffic and they always run better with them unless you racing and on 3/4 to full throttle quite a lot of the time which nobody is on a road bike even less so here in qld with a camera,s every few km just my experience
