Hey guys I was just trying to get a few quotes for comprehensive or third party fire and theft insurance (leaning towards this) but most don't insure imports. anyone insured one of these?? IF SO who with?

I would try Swan Insurance , Suncorp and Insure My Ride , make sure your sitting down when you get your quote as insurance for a newly licenced rider on a fully faired sports bike isnt cheap. But after a few years with no claims, its does get better !!! I was in my early 30s when I bought my CBr250RR, my insurance was over $1000 for the first year, ho'wever my CBR600 is just over $300 per year as I have been riding for some time. Keep shopping around.

Haha I know right, I was expecting it. I've found a couple of quotes for third party fire and theft for around $230 from youi and QBE. Looks to be the go, if I break it I will have to fix it myself and let that be a lesson to me :thumb_ups:

Kiffsta I cant find the zxr250 or zx2r on insure my ride and because they are online only that rules them out :S

I had my insurance with insure my ride, very good price and service was outstanding. If your bike isn't listed give them a call. Good luck.

Here's where being over 30 with a good driving record helps. My ZXR250 costs $270 Full comprehensive through Insure My Ride.

To select ZXR250 you need to select 'Kawasaki' under model, it will then give the option of zxr250 and zxr400. And why is being online only a problem?

No cover for it apparently, for those of you playing at home I chose QBE for $522 or $43.70 a month.

I insured the 97 Across with Swan with a value of 4k. $20 bucks per month. Advantage of being in your 40s!

The bloke I spoke to was really good.. $250. year so works out the same.

They asked what I wanted to insure it for, and knowing the red book, I just threw up a figure of 4k and he said no sweat.

I reckon that's the advantage of speaking to them rather than the online quote.

Just checked the paperwork. It's insured for $3900... my bad :)

Just having the monthly payments equal the yearly is a major bonus......my cars and house are with NRMA and as much as being a "member" and having multiple policies with them gives u a discount (supposedly) , it adds alot back on paying monthly.
