Hi all, as with most builds mine is coming along slow and steady. I have recently made my own dash, and fitting LEDs for dash lights. The kit of lights I purchased only cone with one amber (indicator) LED. How would I go about setting it up so both sides use the one dash light?? TIA, Jon. Please note, that is not where the indicator switch will be mounted. Just a temp position.
You will need to use a couple of diode's either side of the dash indicator warning led light to stop the power going across as lighting the opposite side light's when you have the indicator's on I'll find a diagram to show you how to wire it up Shouldn't take too long
You will need to buy 2x 1N4005 Diode's from Jaycar for under $1 Find the wire from your left indicator to the dash warning light and solder the diode with the line on the diode at the warning light end Do the same to the wire from your right indicator to dash warning light Now join the 2x wire's coming off the other end of the diode's and that will become the power in for your led (indicator dash warning light) Now all you need to do is to run a wire from the output of the led to an earth point. Sorry for the dodgy paint pic below
