    Hello from Niagara Falls, Ontario,Canada.
New rider here, taking my motorcycle safety course in April. Just purchased a 2004 Kawasaki ZZR250.

It's winter here right now, I have removed the battery (storing indoors) and replaced the fuel with new premium ethanol free gas and Sta-bil.

With the oil, as I am uncertain how old it is, should I drain and replace now or wait until spring. I heard starting in cold weather is hard on the engine. Any other tips? Storing the seat indoors?

    Thank you in advance,
    Jacob

Running in cold weather can let condensation build up in the oil if the engine doesn't get up to operating temperature. I suggest you wait until spring. Your winter is almost over down there. Welcome to the site.

:welcome: Jacob. The ZZR 250 is a nice looking bike , what colour scheme have you got.
The rear luggage hooks are a brilliant idea.

Mine is black, I like the luggage hooks, one is broken but seems easy enough to fix

    :welcome:

Oil should be "warm" so it drains better ..... so if your still shovelling snow off your driveway I would be waiting till spring so the oil is at least "room temperature" :D
