Just picked up a 250 Across project. Needs tyres, fork seals and a tidy for rego. Runs and rides well.
Started it a moment ago and high beam light was on regardless of switch position and no headlight. Was all working fine last time it started (4 days ago)
Anyone had this happen to them?

I don' know anything of the Across electrics, but the high beam switch should activate/deactivate a relay

First thing I would check as it's likely the simplest thing to check is the headlight bulb before delving any deeper.

Pure speculation - the high beam being stuck on might be to indicate a blown bulb, but high beam/low beam is two separate elements, strange for both to go simultaneously if that has happened

Some bikes (maybe Yamaha if I remember correctly) had a safety thing where if the filament of high/low burnt out then a relay would trip and bring the opposite high/low on so you were not suddenly in the dark. Sold as a safety feature, but a very good idea for night riding.

    Thanks for the replies.
Started it a few days after noticing high beam light and it was all good again.
A few days later it was back again.
Damn intermittent problems. Going to check relay first and go from there
