Dubbo has a meeting on the 30th of August, but it won't matter as I can't get across the VIC/NSW border regardless or where I am coming from. Melbourne...the world's most laughable city!

Maybe this should be Melbourne's new advertising image? At least this guy gets it (sort of)...

No mate. I'm a Tasmanian resident, so heading for the boat and I'll see you in 6 weeks or whenever Melbourne figures out what law and order means, or at a minimum what respect for your fellow man entails. 90% do the right thing and the other 10% eff it up for all of us.

Yeah, the driver (Rosco) has always been a bit of a nutter. Started off racing bikes and then went to the drag strip and eventually made his way onto the salt. The website the Chief has linked has a page showing some of his previous rides including a couple of bikes for anyone who is interested. I assume Rosco received his Order of Australia (OAM) for being crazy?

Our new Barnett clutch with the RZR lock up held like a champ no slipping what so ever. Such a wild little bike and to think we are still waiting for our good pistons and connecting rods... yes all that power on stock internals. Can’t wait for speedweek to see how fast she will go!:end quote

    Ho hum.
Half the reason to go to a drag racing event is to experience the noise. I know that electric can go fast but it would be a big let down to go to a major national meeting and still hear the birds cheeping.
When you think about trying to travel around a big spread out country like ours on electric bike/car, then the whole travel thing has gone full circle back to the horse coach days. The towns we have now came about at the distances that the horse teams could travel in a day (around 80 to 100Km apart), with the smaller villages where the teams could be changed/rested and the passengers have a pit stop.
With the short range of the current crop of electric vehicles it would take many days to travel across the state with having to recharge at every second town, so until we can have batteries that can do a 1000Km on a charge then the internal combustion engine will still be around for a while.

Sorry Blokey. I wasn't meaning anything by posting that link. Just thought some people on here might be interested(?). I know how many electric bike and HD fans we have on here, so I thought I could offend two groups at the same time! Rest assured, I won't be riding an electric bike at the drags anytime soon. And, I'm pretty sure those three individuals won't ever race electric bikes either. The lady (Angelle) who ran the 7.0 on the electric bike, has won 43 Pro Stock Motorcycle events over her illustrious career. I'm sure she enjoyed the novelty, but she's back on her (real) Pro Stock Bike this weekend after winning her 43rd event just under a month ago.
