Picked it up in June 2012 ....ran out of rego 22 Oct ,so I had till 22 Jan to get it roadworthy.....did a helluva lot the last few weeks!
Bit of fine tuning and a bunch of little things and it should be right for some nice fun leisure riding

Pick up day.....

Hi GreyImport,

The bike ran great!! Did a best time of 2:19. More track time and I'll bring that down to maybe 2:00. It was my first time on a BIG track (I have only had 6 races on a go kart track before this event) so I had a lot to learn. Made me realise just how "brave" Casey and others are. Managed to top speed the bike on Thursday in practice @ 190km/h.

Hi GreyImport,

I was a bit worried she might have a bit of a headshake at max speed but she performed fanstastic!! No wobbles or shimmies at all. I did have a bit of trouble with the cross wind and learnt that it's sometimes better NOT to put your knee out on the high speed corners. Going through turn three and the haysheds, keep the knee in, but on turn twelve coming onto the main straight I was using my knee to help the bike turn. Never had the bike fast enough to realise before. lol.

Hey mate...
Yea I was wondering how much shake and shimmy would be happening at very high revs !

Sounds like u had it well worked out in the riding dept and great to see an "old" bike performing so well

The last corner onto the straight is awesome!
Marco for the win!

I would reckon even the MotoGP, 2 and 3 guys would be compensating for the variable gale down there.

I remember when camping down there to see Doohan in his last days and watching a bunch of campers set up tents, tarps and the like and then after they all took off to the town a big wind came up and flattened it all....we rescued it all and handed it back to them as they returned...funny stuff.

God I love the look of the FZR from this angle....you can't beat the older late 80's early 90's sports bikes, they look so goood.

Also where did the "thunderbolt" sticker come from???? Does it have a meaning behind it?
