So I stumbled across an article today:

    http://makeitatyourlibrary.org/living-play/worlds-easiest-silicone-mold#.WmG79aiWaUk

This made me recall a conversation with @MashtX where we were discussing the rarity of the FZR400 (and in a lot of cases the FZR250) "bum bit" that sits behind the riders cheeky parts.

I am going to give this a serious go, will look at getting some supplies over the next week given tomorrow we're all headed on a massive ride down the great ocean road. The process I am thinking is:

    1. Get the silicone ready
    2. Wrap the bum bit so it's fully enclosed
    3. Push a bit of tubing so there's an entry point for some plaster of paris (plan to use this to see what sort of quality I can get
    4. Let it set, carefully cut in half (need a clean cut if I can) with a hobby knife to remove the bum bit (as I still need it!)
    5. Put it back together and use more silicone to "glue" the halves
    6. Let it set again
    7. Mix up some plaster, put it down the breather hole
    8. Let it set
    9. Cut it open at the same join and see what I get

Never done this before but in principle may work.. anyone tried something like this? If I can get something of good quality I just need to figure out how to get liquid ABS plastic into it haha..

There's a place down the road from me that sell's the same sort of stuff, (Adelaide Moulding and Casting Supplies)
i've thought about it for making replacement post's/lug's for fairing's etc with the silicon mould compound too.

I am planning on having a go making another rear filler plate for the seat/fairing's on mine too,
but i will just use the ABS sheet i already have and some home made glue (acetone/dissolved lego brick's) as the adhesive

Where do you get abs sheet from? can you put a curl into it without damaging it? the bum bits are curled slightly top and bottom otherwise I imagine they are just a L x W size with some lugs on the back.

Someone from the club suggested I have a look at doing a 3D CAD of one as he has a 3D printer that does ABS plastic... curious to try that too. I have the software it's just the tedious process of copying the thing which will drive me nuts. Probably something for a rainy day (plenty of those round here for sure)

I got the ABS sheet from a plastic's mob down the road cheap.
I have found a place not far from here that has bigger piece's (600mmx900mm) and sheet's up to 1200mmx2400mm

You can curve it pretty easy with a heat gun, the piece on the left in the third pic is the ABS i bent over at 90 degree's to repair the missing section on the right fairing of my FZR

This is the piece Joker is wanting to make.
The top tab's have broken off mine and one of the post's down the bottom has broken and been replaced
