    Hi everyone,

I've gone through 2 engine now in tiring them out at our local tracks with AFM. I am getting another engine from Adelaide and then having another built by Mike Norman at GForce.

    http://mngforce.typepad.com/nc450vdev/gforce-history.html

I already have a VFR428 that we won several championships on and now after winning the 250 Championship in 2014 and coming second in 2015 we need to do something serious with our MC22.

Mike is on it and we will have the motor together by the end of February and running. In the interim while I race at Phillip Island at the Classic and then have my annual teaching tour of NZ, Mike will be sending pictures to me of the build and I'll post them up.

Cryo and polishing of many many parts so far!!!

Mike has several ideas being a Honda engineer as to what he will be doing to this gear driven engine. I won't be privvy to those until after the build is complete.

We may be dumping the stock carbs for some 28mm FCR flat slides........... not sure if we can pull the cash together for that purchase lol. It might mean having to sell parts off a bike to raise the $1,400 needed.

Wow, certainly putting some $$$ into this engine, did you do a "before" Dyno test so you have a baseline to measure improvements against ?

how did you go sourcing crank bearings, did that link I sent you help ?

Mike acquired some bearings (not sure where) and he is checking them to see what we actually got, so thanks for the help. We do have the baseline from the old engine so we can compare it to the new build (this is the original engine the bike came with) and with the same carb set up. No doubt we will need to so something with the jetting.

Good questions. I thought Team USA raced in the open class or have I misunderstood what you're riding at the Island?

The 250 class is going away and the 300 class will take over with AFM. As such 250's will be at a significant disadvantage to a fully built 300. The mini blade can only race in the 250 superbike class being a non production bike in the US so if that class stays and 300 Superbike starts it will be eligible for those 2 races.

You are correct - they do race in the open class team challenge, so the TZ750 is WAYYYYY down on power to the 170-190bhp 1300's.

Jeez, I wouldn't say a TZ750 is WAY down on power. 140-150bhp...right? Plus it's a classic to watch going around. A bit like Cam Donald on that Egli-Vincent...just beautiful! Good luck & I'll see you at the island.
