Hmm, bit shiiiity right now, cruising home after work in the left hand lane ( right hand wheel track) of Wynnum road in Morningside and a lady in a Toyota Kluger was pulling out of the Caltex servo, I thought I had made eye contact when I was about 10 meters away, she roared out into my lane just missing me. Damm close call..... I think I owe my Q ride trainer a beer, he kept drumming into me, expect the unexpected... always look for hazzards and make sure you have an escape plan. Cheers N Beers Chris
That was way to close. I have also thanked the guys from the rider training for the same things and they also drummed in to keep practicing your emergency stopping. This came in real handy when I was going down to do my P's as I came around a corner and found the very friendly guy in a semi turning onto the road in front of me. Although He was already moving before I was in view. keeping a eye out for hazards and buffering I was able to make a safe stop in time but it was a good re-enforcement of how easy things happen around you that you can't control.
This happens to me more than id like to remember. They look right at you and then, Bam, they want your lane. I think some of these people need to resit thier license. Glad your ok mate.
Been there mate, it absolutely sucks, I almost binned it once like this, ended up mounting the median strip and almost falling off at 80km/h, very lucky that day... That's one of the things I hate and love about motorcycles though. :occasion14: I'm still considering the idea of mounting a paintball gun next to my radiator...
