Hi recently got a CBF 250 in uk
Have some issues getting into neutral, the bike is 07 plate and has 9k miles on clock, not been ridden a lot going by the M.O.T s will it get easier the more it's ridden?
Also on the first start seems to need choke, is this normal for the UK?

Previously owned a Kawasaki ER5 which hated the choke lol

Full choke and NO throttle is the normal procedure for starting a cold engine. The clutch drag (causing hard neutral selection) could be down to old oil or wrong grade of oil. Have you changed it yet?

with any used bike, always assume maintenance has never been done. Promptly change:
    - oil
    - coolant
    - brake fluid

Cold oil also increases clutch drag. You should notice shifting lighten-up after full warm-up, about 15-20 min.

hi I too have just bought a cbf250 with 20000 on her, and had the same neutral problem , to cure , first take out any slack in the gear linkage, by bushing the pivots, make sure the lever pivot shaft has no wear, and ad zx1 engine treatment to oil , and my neutral finding is 90 per cent better, can find neutral when the engine is running and the bike is stopped making this a great bike now
