Hello to all! I'm wondering if anyone has the part numbers for a few parts I require for my 1986 2KR? I need to source 'new old stock' or good second hand suspension parts and the part numbers for the bits I need would be very helpful. The part numbers I need are for the parts 6,7,8,12 and 13 as seen on page 13 on the archive link; http://attachments.fzr250.com/Dave/chap ... ension.pdf Thanks in advance!
Re: Can anyone help with 2KR 1986 rear suspension part numbe I have done some research and it may be that the Yamaha SRX250 has the same shock linkages so I'm hoping that the nylon bushes are the same dimensions. Now ordered.
Re: Can anyone help with 2KR 1986 rear suspension part numbe How did you go with the parts?? The early FZR250 (2KR) shared some parts with the TZR250.
Re: Can anyone help with 2KR 1986 rear suspension part numbe Hi Dave, Yes, thank you for the information, I've noticed from research that the TZR have some shared parts with the FZR amongst a few others which makes it easier to find what you are looking for, for sure. In answer to your question, I received an email from http://www.boats.net where I ordered them from stating that they have been despatched so I'm currently awaiting delivery of the parts. I've ordered the nylon bush and oil seal and end caps; 2 of each. Not cheap at £76 GBP ($123 US Dollars) or to you, $141 AUS Dollars but I'm stuck without the parts. I accidentally left the parts in the swing arm (excluding the end caps) as it went to the powder coaters...... The result was that bushes and seals melted out when the swing arm was in the baking process! The swing arm looks fantastic but my idiocy cost me time and money, a lesson learned! I only hope that the new parts from the SRX250 are the same as the FZR250. I tried to find some new shock to swing arm linkages/arms but to no avail. I've seen some SRX linkages but they are in similar condition to mine as the ends that fit into the nylon bush that go into the swing arm on mine have had water ingress at some point and have rusted and pitted the once smooth machined steel finish. I've contacted metal worker/engineer who is going to repair mine so all should be good..... I'm restoring the bike deservedly back to its former glory so no expense spared. A long way to go before showroom condition so No doubt I'll be relying on you fellow friendly FZR250 worshippers to help out with a question or two.
Re: Can anyone help with 2KR 1986 rear suspension part numbe Ok on that - Sometimes good ideas don't work out as planned and end up costing more. Hopefully you will get the bike works finished without too many more hiccups.
