Some interesting picks of smaller bikes from this year's Broadford Bike Bonanza. A bit of a run down on the BSA Empire twin.

Built by Doug Fraser as a modern day interpretation of the BSA v twins of the 1930's.
The frame and engine are totally bespoke.
The engine is a V twin, quad cam, 8 valve and 1200cc.
Power output is around 120bhp at the wheel with a rev limit of around 10,000 rpm.
    Boy does it sound great.
It took Doug about 14 months to build (almost full time).
Doug did all the design himself including building the patterns for the cast engine parts.
The crank alone was fabricated from a 50kg steel billet. Camshafts have also been designed and machined by Doug.
The belt cam drive is reminisent of the Britton race bikes.

Doug also has a fully ADR compliant road going version.

More info here for those interested.

Interestingly, The Hillman Hunter Safari that features in his video, is his current tow car and doubled as his sleeping quarters at the Bike Bonanza.

    Peter.
