Does anyone know forum member James McLaren (from Queensland) personally? Midway through last year, he expressed interest in buying a bike I had previously offered for sale. After some correspondence, we agreed a price. He offered a deposit, but I told him it wasn't necessary - his word would do. Due to Covid-19-related travel restrictions, we weren't in a position to set a date for collection. We therefore agreed to wait until travel restrictions were eased before doing so. As I hadn't heard from him since reaching agreement, I sent him a PM on 12 February asking him if he would like to set a date for collecting the bike (as travel restrictions had been lifted). So far, I haven't received a reply. It may be that he was/is unable to reply for some reason, so I thought it fair to make some effort to contact him before doing a deal with anyone else. He had told me he was a friend of forum member Kiffsta, so I thought I would try sending Kiffsta a PM first. However, it seems I am 'not allowed to start a conversation' with Kiffsta (I'm not sure what that is all about). The only option I now see is to ask whether any other forum member knows James Mc personally and, if so, to ask him to get in touch. I'll allow another two or three weeks to hear from him (or from someone who knows him) before I consider the deal 'off'. Thanks & regards, James

Calling @James Mclaren ...again. I received your message of 3 March, but I didn't receive any notification of it (even though I had ticked the box to receive notifications of messages), so I didn't find it until 12 March when I went looking. I replied immediately, but haven't heard further from you. Mr Grey Import subsequently sorted out the 'lack of notifications' issue for me, but it is possible that you have been having the same problem (i.e. you haven't received a notification that I sent you a message). To James McLaren: I have tried to contact you three times by private and public message since I last heard from you on 3 March, but have received no reply. When I first tried to contact you this year on 12 February, the only thing remaining was for you to tell me when you wanted to collect the bike. However, you didn't even mention prospective collection in your private message of 3 March. In view of the lack of contact, I am sorry to say that the deal is off. Yours sincerely, James P.
