As posted previously I 'supposedly' was clocked doing 74kmh in a 50 zone .... second reading was 60+ which the kind hearted gentleman in his neatly pressed blue uniform decided that will do for the speeding charge.

Maybe I was riding a Korean Overlocker and not a sewing machine to reach those amazing speeds from a standing start , turning from a sidestreet , going up an incline , and reaching all of 3rd gear..... or was that 2nd?

The interesting fact was that the 'radar' tracked me from some distance away around a bend behind trees , houses and a huge chunk of mother earth.

My friend in blue did insist I could check his radar in car when I commented "Its only a fukin Hyosung" in disgust.
My only regret is that I didnt ask for a printout of the detection details (I wonder if u can actually get that?) to prove his accusations that a Hyosung GT250R with my 110kg fat arse aboard could actually reach such blinding speeds in such a short distance.

Falling over in a gravel carpark while acting like a lunatic .... well yes we know the GT250R has the capabilities to perform such a death defying stunt..... but speed? ... nah

    Maybe I need a Chinese bike? .....;)

Anyway my 'payback' was to have the gentleman in blue wait a number of minutes with the said speeding ticket in hand , while I was texting other riders known to be in the area to beware of cars with flashing lights on the roof...... maybe he thought I was messaging my mum to tell her I was enjoying my morning ride.
His parting comment was 'ride safe' ..... hmm ok , thanks for the concern .... prat

Now for your interest and information (if your in NSW) , heres the alternatives to just paying up without a fight.

Original ticket and the first step of a review ..... follow up to follow

    Interesting also ... no demerits

Points only accumulate once the fine is paid.

What one of my workmates did was elect to take it to court, and kept deferring the date until he had his full rider license. They don't make much fuss, his reason for not attending was due to work commitments :thumb_ups:

Went up and down that road today with my learner and no sign of 'blue monkey suits'.

That says it all, doesn't it. Glad you had a win Mr Grey.

Here, the only thing the police do is have random checkpoints where they pull over scooter riders to check if they have any registration (lots of vehicles do not even have number plates), license and helmet. I have those but they don't want to pull me over and have to try to speak English. I got pulled over one day and they were asking for something, license I presume, which I did not have at the time, so I lifted the seat and gave them the Honda owners manual and said "Honda". The officer just smiled and sent me on my way. This was all on the scooter. Once I go out there on the 400 it will be different because it would be a nice bike to impound and keep. One of the downsides of having not many laws and very little in the way of enforcement.
    cheers
    Blair

CONGRATULATIONS, now do not try it again within 10 years or the answer will be different.

You dont get that in QLD. I received apenalty notice a month ago. 64 in a 40 school zone. On the back it explains everything out.

    "Can I ask for leniency?"

No. Queensland Police consider Speeding and Red-light infringements to be life threatening, and leniency will not be given.

On the subject of my fine, I looked at the damn speed camera as I went past, looked at my speedo and thought "Whats that 62? Nah im good, its 60 in here. Now why would they put the camera here and not up here (now 100m up the road just beyond the next traffic light) where the school zone starts"

Turns out about a month earlier they had shifted the scheel zone back to the previous light. Cause when I got the fine, My jaw literally dropped and I sat in stunned silence for about 2 mins straight. Maybe a little less. I was certain they had stuffed up. I walked into my computer, pulled up my helmet cam footage and sat with a smug face as I watch video after video of footage thinking "HAHA, I'm right your wrong" till about a month before the fine, when the smile drained away from my face when the next vid showed the zone extended.

I call BS on that one.
