Yep, sorry for late notice. I only just read the article on Friday otherwise I would have posted sooner. I might have to move to Brisbane to do some regular racing. Be interested to see what an RS125 could do the quarter in. Have a good weekend.

    Hi Team,

Went to Heathcote to test today. Weather was okay (22-24 degrees). Lots of bikes there (10+) as I think it might have been a club do and there was also a few serious folks with those HD Destroyers (see pic). Anyhoot, I was testing ratios with standard jets and getting ready for a couple of 1/8 mile events coming up. One of the street bike riders (on a BMW S1000RR) decided to turn off his traction control in the lane next to me. I hope someone had a camera on him because he flipped it on the startline!. Because it's testing you both get the same tree (no indexing) and as I left the line I saw a front wheel heading skyward out of the corner of my eye and when he never came past I thought he might have wheelstood and shut off...nope! Plenty of damage and he oiled the lane to boot. I went over to him and he was okay; just pissed about his bike.

So, long story short...attached is my timeslip from my last run (14.97@91mph). Not as quick as @Revolver's ET but worth logging in the thread. I did 6 testing runs and managed a .430 reaction time (on a .400 tree) and a 2.13 60ft so I'm ready for the real thing in a couple of weeks. Enjoy

Thanks Grey. Yep, I'm guessing the guy on BMW didn't even make it that far before flipping.

Hey, @GreyImport I read about that guy on a US sports blog this weekend. He made the news over there because they were all impressed at his laconic response when he watched the video of the flip - "It's not supposed to do that." :)

I need to address the ballast issue. Poor bike has to lug 100kg up and down the strip!

Be careful with NOS, it melts stuff.

Did you make it to Swan Hill last weekend for their inaugural meeting? If you did, what did the Zed run? I couldn't go, but I heard the track isn't good...a few serious dips causing lots of issues. Pretty sad considering how much money they spent and everyone was hoping it would be the next big thing for Victorian drag racing! Apparently, the local council was commissioned to lay the concrete...nuff said eh! I believe the timing failed on Sunday, so grudge racing only. I think they might need to get the Tamworth Drag Racing folks to help sort them out. Speaking of Tamworth, I was at Ballarat (BDRC) today putting a few runs on the bike. Running stock jetting to get a baseline before trying different jetting and airbox configurations. Managed a 9.68 ET and a best MPH of 73.05. Lots of 9.70ish ET's and consistent reaction times and 60ft times, so happy I have good data to compare for next lot of mods. Weather was 24-25 and a little humid, so not great atmosphere. (9.68 isn't fast, but it's something for @Murdo and the Tamworth crew to aim at for the upcoming Gunnedah meeting in early 2017! Be good to see a few 2fiftycc bikes at these meetings.

wasnt able to make it, i now work tues to sat each week, so the bike's had to take a side step.. finally got an O2 sensor for it then went out to start it and see if everything was working and the battery sht itself only after having it for 2 months. thats 2 katana batteries in 8 months dead... i got a tdr gel battery a week ago, but with work and trying to rest i havent had the time... going to pull it out tomorrow and see what things look like. and if i've done enough overtime last week might even register the progs i've been using.. then have to save up for more rego. $400 a year for the bike and $370 of that goes to the TAC... plus now re-rego fee's and maybe even have to RWC it again if vicroads is being pissy.

Someone with a camera took a few pics at the recent Ballarat drags. A couple of photos of my bike made it onto his photo page, so here's one that I downloaded and re-sized. Anything promoting the forum and Blair is a good thing.

A "mate" said it "looks good from afar, but it's far from good!". He's probably right, but I'm more focused on going as fast as a Fat Bastard can on a 2fiftycc to worry about aesthetics.

Well, It's been a lot longer than I care to remember, but today I did manage to take the ZX2R drag bike for a run. I woke up this morning and told the wife I was going to pack the bike and head for Heathcote Park Raceway. She suggested that since my cold/flu wasn't getting any better, it would be smarter if I stayed home and rested. I assured her I would be fine (having just ingested some cold'n'flu tablets and a couple of aspirins!)

I should have listened to her. I had the worst day I've had at a drag strip for a long time, probably ever! I've never been shut down on the start line for a leak...happened today. I've never launched and had the bike die off the line and have to push it back behind the staging area...happened today. I've never had so many problems at one session. I guess the fact the bike hasn't been run for such a long time probably didn't help.

Anyhoot, I got to the track and the lady at the ticket booth says "wow, there's more people here today than I've ever seen." Great, that's a good start! Normally, you can take your choice of pit area, but today I was on the grass and shoulder to shoulder with everyone around me. I did 6 runs (5 & 1/8 actually). Normally, I would do this many before the lunch break and I NEVER stay until they close the track..happened today! The place was chockers and everyone wanted to run as many times as possible. There were a few bikes...a BMW S1000, a Busa, 2 x GSXR1000, a Harley, a B/MB Honda and yours truely.

First run: I noticed there was a strong headwind, so I wasn't expecting great times. After the first run I realised I should just focus on my 60ft and 1/8 mile times. I'm confident that I can eventually run a sub 2.0sec 60ft time, so it's always fun to ignore the Christmas tree and try to nail a quick launch. Managed a 2.06 on one run and my quickest run (to 1/8 mile) was 9.41 (see following) which wasn't too bad given the conditions. 1/4 mile times and speeds were rubbish due to headwind. The little 2fiftycc just doesn't have the power to push through it as the bike gets further down the strip. Even the bigger bikes had trouble running to their potential. Hoping the SA boys made it to AIR and have some pics/details to share with us.
