    Okay so its been a while since I posted, Finally sold something and got play money for the bike.

    Done some research on bearings, after the first ones I ordered were wrong and had to be returned.

    So the swingarm Bearings in a 1989 FZR250 3LN are as removed;
    Swingarm Pivot Bearing - TA2487Z (HMK2428) Size 24mm x 31mm x 28mm
    Knuckle Pivot Bearing- TA1715Z (HMK1715) Size 17mm x 24mm x 15mm
    Knuckle Oil Seal - 17mm x 24mm x 4mm

    Hope these serve helpful for future reference.

    Im still tossing up between powder coating or painting, Painting is looking like its going to be 400-600$. While Powder Coating is going to be probably half that. Anyone got any suggestions?

    Okay so its been a busy and messy few weeks. I bought the bearings, total 120$ NZD. I wont be replacing the bushing. Then got to work cleaning the stained alloy block of my engine, used a 50/50 mix of water and Phosphoric Acid. Please for the love of god, wear a full face mask and long globes... I didn't at first and learnt the hard way! But it turned out looking good!

    Eng1.JPG Eng2.jpg Eng3.jpg

    Also had my new exhaust turn up, its a 51mm ID cherry bomb from a local exhaust supplier Chase Automotive, came to about 50$ with freight and gst. So this will tuck nicely under the engine and give me that nice short muffler I want, And ill probably have to play with a baffle or chamber to make it a little less OPEN PIPE noise. Its only 76mm OD in the middle with 250mm in length. And thanks to whoever told me, But I will be picking up on the factory exhaust mounts below the mount for the knuckle to support this new addition.

    Had an accident at work after all this, Hit a diesel/oil patch near one of the local auto parts stores with a new rear tyre about 1km into a test ride to bed in the tyres. Only low speed stuff so it wasnt too bad, But im off week for probably 6-8 weeks. Some muppet probably to blame, but it was me who had the fall. Cost my poor boss $3500 NZD buying the bike back, now he has to fix it and sell it again. Ended up with a fractured foot, and a fractured wrist. So been at home on painkillers being bored stupid. Last 4 days ive been able to stand without a lot of pain, so decided to get to work painting the frame of my bike. **** its not easy wet sanding with a cast on, and keeping it dry.

    IMG_3353.JPG IMG_3355.JPG IMG_3371.JPG IMG_3372.JPG

    Started with the above, the 2 holes for the fake RAM AIR hoses welded up and ground back ready for bog. Forgot to take photos through the bog process. But there ended up being about 2.5mm bog on each side to make it all look flat again. Then got onto painting it;

    frame-1.jpg IMG_3381.JPG IMG_3382.JPG <-- Bloody runs in the paint :(
    IMG_3384.JPG IMG_3388.JPG frame-2.jpg IMG_3392.JPG

    And finally clear coat;

    frame-4.jpg frame-5.jpg frame-6.jpg IMG_3397.JPG

    Very happy so far, next is to do all the smaller stuff like engine hangers, pegs etc etc.

    Holy cow this is out of date... So the paint I used for the frame didnt bake well, in fact it didnt go off when baked and was too soft. So I had it all sandblasted off for a 2nd time...

    This is where I am up to now;
    IMG_4452.jpg IMG_4453.jpg IMG_4454.jpg IMG_4455.jpg IMG_4456.jpg IMG_4457.jpg

    So I've swapped rotors, painted the engine, swapped the ignition leads, fitted my new tires, re-painted the forks aswell as the frame with Durepox 2K Black. Test fitted the seat I purchased online with the old sub-frame.

    Bought a 2nd head stock to chop up to fit the trailtech vapor mount onto, Will re-mount the key switch somewhere else. Currently off to have the keyswitch mounts milled off the bottom so its looks clean. Then its bog and paint time to make it look tidy. Really happy with how it looks so far!

    Finally got her outside for some sun, Put the covers on the motor and made their gaskets.

    Fitted up the twin headlight, don't think i really like it. Borrowed a headlight from work and mounted it up, Thinking I like it a lot better. Needs to be painted black I think tho!

    "Dominator" Twin 3.5" Headlights

    Single Cafe Style Headlight
    IMG_4533.jpg IMG_4534.jpg IMG_4536.jpg

    Pretty sure im going to stick with the single headlight, so I will sell the dominator headlight on trademe or something.

    Played with the seat a little, demo of what it will be when mounted properly

    Thinking of ordering a 3D printer off AliExpress to make side covers and mudguards for this bike. Anyone tried this before?

    3D printing can at times be a very time consuming and frustrating exercise, I've got two mates with 3D printers and getting consistent output is often elusive.

    Think inkjet printing from 15 years ago and getting the wonderful output that was promised in the ads with just the press of a button, it never really happened...

    I've seen one of these working on the sale's counter at Jaycar ($1999 NZ), but they are pretty small
    They were printing an Eiffel Tower model, they also had some Lego they had made on display
    Only problem is the maximum printing size is 130(w) x 150(H) x 298(D)mm
    https://www.jaycar.co.nz/pre-built-dual-filament-3d-printer/p/TL4090

    Aliexpress has the same thing that'll be on sale on the 11/11/2016 for $897 AU ($940 NZ)
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Dua..._1&btsid=7d3e4ac7-535d-4014-877e-ec6be4997455

    This one can do up to 225mm x 225mm x 360mm, it will be on sale 11/11/2016 for $1,247.63 AU (1307.66 NZ)

    I'll be getting one of the $215 us ones that does 180x180x220 just to make side covers, mudguard and maybe try some flexible filament to make new airbox rubbers and carb mounts. I know a guy who can 3D scan the original parts for me. :3

    Flexible in 3D prints is still very rigid, for comparison I have a hollow green ABS print of a torso about the size of a cigarette packet which is virtually weightless and so amazingly strong that you could just about hammer in nails with it.
    I've got some 3D printed flat components printed in nylon, 8mm thick, with 1.5mm skins and hexagonal fill for weight reduction are flexible but they have no stretch.

    It is possible to do components in several pieces for larger assemblies

    Those twin headlights look amazing, and your entire build is an awesome inspiration for my build. Regarding the Trail Tech speedo, how was that to install and wire up? I was looking at a Daytona speedo, this one: https://purposebuiltmoto.com/product/daytona-deva01-multifunction-cockpit/
