1984 SRX 250 Yamaha Light Sports. Compliance Plate 8/84 in original UN-restored condition. I bought this some time ago as a project and have done a lot of mechanical work on it. I have lost interest in completing it and more interested in riding these days than working on bikes. I have replaced all the bushes in the suspension, I have bled the front brakes and they work fine for their age, also fitted SS braided line. Back brakes are in fair condition. Tyres look good but unknown time since they have been used. Not quite the standard sizes as I believe they are hard to get these days. The engine was in bad shape when I got it but now runs quietly as I have replaced the barrel and piston with second hand ones that are within factory specifications. I have fitted new oil pump gears and clutch works fine and plates and springs are all in spec. The old barrel and piston, as well as a 0.50 oversize one with a new set of rings go with the bike plus numerous other spare parts as show in the photos. Forks are in fair condition as is the petrol tank which has a couple of minor dents but no holes or rust visible. The body work has been patched but paint work is all original. The seat has been recovered at some stage. All lights, blinkers horn work and bike would pass a blue slip without problems. Kilometres shown on the gauge are under 20k but it looks like the speedo has been replaced so unsure of real distance travelled. I have a video of the bike running and it starts with some effort as I only run it every few months. It has only been ridden down the end of my driveway since I rebuilt the motor, has not been on the road at all. The carb has been cleaned with carb cleaner and by Ultrasonic cleaner but needs further fine tuning, while it does idle ok, the revs are slow to respond to closed throttle so some more tuning required there. The carb boots have been renewed and the air filter is in good shape in original air box, minus the snorkel in the top(did not come with the bike) It looks like there is a minor oil leak in the cam cover on one side, despite all new gaskets fitted on reassembly. The neutral light and speedo and tacho all work ok. This is a good example of this model and is in good mechanical shape and condition overall with only those couple of items I have addressed to be sorted and it should be able to be ridden with confidence or put on club registration if that's the way the new owner wants to go. I have a video of it running but its a bit big to post here, happy to email to any interested parties, its 22.5Mb. Inspection and pick up is in Singleton in the Hunter Valley. Happy to answer any further questions. Asking $1700 from general public, $1500 for group members. Cheers :) IMG_20210328_115424.jpg IMG_20210328_115453.jpg IMG_20210328_115440.jpg IMG_20210328_115500.jpg IMG_20210509_120139.jpg IMG_20210509_112541.jpg
