The fairing (the centre section of a Ducati Supersport 900) started as a joke.

Early reviews of the machine compared it to older Ducati 250 singles, so it became a bit of an "in joke" - besides, it was red, and had a square headlamp hole.

I actually quite like it in an ironic way, so it stayed on!

Purists may reasonably argue itisn't "OEM" but I can assure them "no bikes were permenantly damaged" and besides, it looks a lot more tasteful than the "Hondastyle" efforts of the 1980s.

The whole thing can be reverted to "stock" in less than ten minutes!
