Hi everyone joined this site looking for information on a ZXR250 project we picked up the other week in pieces. The bike had been stripped down to the frame and painted unfortunately the guy we got it off only had one colour in the shed, black and no licence to use a spray gun. Mainly working on the mechanical side at the moment carbies need a full rebuild, thanks Sharky for the vaccum slide you sent me the other day.

    Cheers Chris

Yes I will get a Litetek kit first think its more about vaccum rather than blocked jets

Check all the vacuum hoses & carb boots are fitted correctly & for signs of cracking, spraying some aerosol around the boots and carb body will help find any leaks by increasing rpm. As for the carburetor have you removed all jets, pilot screws etc and given them and the carby passages a good clean & blowout? Do the butterfly valves operate smoothly & in unison? the butterflies could just be set too open or closed needing a carb sync.--Sorry if you knew all this already.

yes cleaned all the jets the butterflys generally speaking things look ok and she fires up first kick. Its been raining here all day so a test ride was not an option. Before I pulled them apart last weekend it would not rev past about 13000-14000 rpm need to test ride it to see if there is any improvement now after a clean and the vaccum slide fixed. let you know how it goes.

    Cheers Chris
