I was lucky/unlucky not sure which one it is, to be given a FZR 250 in December last year as the owner couldn't sell it. The bike hadn't been started for 3 years and nearly every fairing was broken plus mirrors, blinker, windscreen, very rusty fuel tank and the seats need reupholstering. I cleaned out the jets in the carburetor, changed the oil, plugs and fuel filter. Surprise Surprise the bike started. Now the work starts

I have glued and fiber glassed the fairing up and started to paint today.
Put a LiteTek seal kit through the carburetor & changed the float needles
checked the value clearance - the only thing in spec
new brake seals as not working or pistons stuck
A local guy is reupholstering the seats for $50 - happy with that

    Forgot to get before photos

Been getting great information from the forum. Thanks for posting all your build/maintenance threads

Another FZR 250 has come back to life :thumb_ups:
As mentioned by others, plenty of info on this site and so much knowledge available.
    You've taken the 1st steps....good effort.
Getting the liteTek kit in....very good move as these kits are the best available (in my humble opinion)
Wish you well, some photos of the beast will be appreciated.
