Definitely! I don't think I could even try to hide my smile when it first started up.... It's given me a big incentive to finish it off now I've heard her running.

 

So I have sold enough parts to go racing rd5!!!!! Just need a van to get there!!!

 

Carbs...don't we just love them. Tends to be a tad off putting when you see them like that.
And when all clean up....we admire them.
How is the rest of the bike Murdo ???

 

Got back from Dorrigo. Amazing ride there. Even better down the mountain to Bellingen, and then back up to Dorrigo, wow!!!

Definitely going to visit mum more often

 

I drove a 6 hour round trip to buy a Suzuki RGV250, I thought I would buy it, and flip it for profit, but to be honest, I am quite smitten with it. I will start a project thread shortly.

 

Not great after I left Armidale on the way there... I tried out a tank of 95, was not good. Drained what was left and got 91 at Dorrigo. Went up and down the mountain twice. Bike was running woeful and still is.

Re-tuned it when I got home, better, but it's bogging down when you open the throttle all the way... Either too rich or too lean... sounds like not firing on all 4... only 2 or 3.

Oh, and the water pump started leaking. There's a little hole underneath it's case which has developed a leak. Only a few drops every now and then.

Between that and the carby issue I thought the head had blown again. About to take carbies off and open them. I wonder what lovely surprises are waiting inside.

Fixed the bogging. Circlips on the needle had come off on 3 of 4 needles. Crimped them a little to make sure they're on tight. Seems fine but too dark for test ride now.

Coolant leak means the seal in waterpump has gone, hence the weep hole. Apparently not rebuildable but I reckon we can change that

I think the virgin fizzer has punished me for using 95 fuel. Never again. Fussy virgin

 

Moving slowly... Still have another fork to do.

If the blue bike had blown its gasket I was thinking about robbing it for parts for the other bike, but it looks like we won't need to do that just yet...

I have to sort out a front brake switch as well, because the late model ones are different to the 3LN3

 

Finally fitted the 03KX125 exhaust to my 03CR125. It fits up alright but I think in the future I might cut the pipe and weld it up. I am gonna still attempt to repair the Pro Circuit pipe as practice. I tend to swap between two projects so the NSR is on hold right now. Although making a bracket up for the silencer gives me a good bit of confidence to fit the MC18 Tyga pipes to my MC21. At least the flanges all should line up! The most painful thing I did today was intentionally dent my exhaust to clear the radiator. Luckily though it was quite minor.

 

Just emptied all my spare pennies into FactoryPro's hands to get myself some new nickel emulsion tubes and fuel screws.

See if I can't fix these damned carbs!

 

Pulled the water pump off and tore it apart. Replaced everything with the new parts in the correct places... Whack it back on, start filling with coolant... dripping out the weep hole straight away.... F#$% me... $100 down the drain. Had it with this shitbox bike, one more problem and it's getting pulled to bits for parts.
