Go to a couple of bike shops with these sizes and ask how much and how much for fitting .... dont fit anything except stock size Just get Bridgestone battlax or Pirellis .... everyone has a different opinion on wats good bad or otherwise Ask for new valve stems when fitting tyres. From the 2KR service manual And dont go to the shop that put Freds tyres on backwards! And read this info .... ! http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/tyre-information.1115/
Hey everyone! Sorry I only post when i need help but haven't had anything to post. So the big "flat spot" has been bothering me lately has always been there but I notice it so much now that I've been riding heaps! I had my carbys fully tuned And all new seals done by Bruce's mechanics and it is still there. I'm thinking my exup, Has anyone else had this problem? Cheers, bluey
If your bike has EXUP, you can adjust the tension on the cables. Take off the rear left fairing and you should see the servo motor. The cables themselves have tensioners on that end. You undo the plastic locknut and adjust the length of each cable. Once correct, do up the locknut. You should be able to squeeze the cables but not get them to touch eachother. In other worse, a little bit of slack so the cable isn't taught all the time. You also need to check the cables on the valve itself, on the exhaust headers. Take off the cover and turn the ignition on to see if it's operating correctly. Should be pretty obvious if it's not. While you're at it, lube the cables and the valve. It may just be stuck.
Thanks for all that juicey info linkin haha, wouldn't of known where to start, do all that tomorrow, I have been trying to get header side cover off but one cheaky Allen key bolt is rusted in will update tomorrow. Oh and is wd40 alright to lube it ?
Lube a cable with engine oil .... put small amounts in the top (cable sticking upwards of course) till it drips out the other end if thats too awkward then squirting copious amounts of WD40 or INOX will help This will explain wat, when and why re the EXUP .... the valve has to be set in the correct position http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threa...-powervalve-information-and-maintenance.1099/
That cable looks a bit hagged. I still have a brand new Venhill Universal EXUP Kit (new cables from the UK) if you want it. Message me.
Sorry, what pin? There's nothing there on any of my bikes. If you put something there it'll stop the valve from opening.
No .... you use an allen key there or similar to lock the valve in place while u adjust the cables http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/exupmaintenance.html
Cheers guys will do it tomorrow! Took it out for a ride with it disconnected and fully open and it's definitely the exup! It had its moments but was way more powerful up high rev range
