Anyone knows a place selling this seal? 93101-28153 Not sure why there is two numbers in parts diagram (one is marked UR and the other A/P). Looks like A/P doesn't have the lip which is supposed to lock in the crankcase groove ... If anyone knows, let me pls know ... otherwise the season seems to be over as I don't see this part cross referencing to any other Yamaha bike. Unless I might get some generic seal of the same specs.
I must be a bit simple - could not find that number in the manuals. Best I can suggest is going to an industral bearing and transmission sales specialist shop. They should be able to match up what you have, but I know this is not always the case with motorbike bearings and seals. If you find you can only get one dimension correct (I.D. or O.D.) then get a metal sleeve or spacer made to make up any slack. It is not uncommon to sleeve worn shafts where the seals fit on them.
Oh no ... this is definitely more difficult than one would think. I am on my second seal (different manufacturer) and it still leak, not as much as the first one (the second is from Viton), but a bit. I worked around it and basically have created paper seals to contain the oil under the cover. Yes it will have to be drained once in a while, but it's better than not riding at all. I suspect that the stock seal, has a weird skirt (lip around the shaft) which is different than most normalized seals. The high RPMs don't help either I am sure.
