hey just a quick question ... are the brake disks interchangeable throughout the years? i need to replace my rear disk on a 3ln1 and was going to get one off ebay but on most of the listings they say 87-89 i need to find a decent dotted disk.

what are your thoughts on the one you listed would you trust an ebay disk? i think it might be faster easier and more reliable for an australian seller.

I wouldnt buy Chinese with something like brake components.
Here is some comments re the Metalgear discs

    http://www.netrider.net.au/forums/showthread.php?t=122444#.UF0EVVGpc4U

That ebay listing is the actual company selling them so its probably the cheapest u will get that brand (ebay feedback is fine also).....but check their website ...

    http://www.metalgear.com.au/

At least they are Australian and yes I would buy them from that small amount of research......maybe google the brand name some more to see if theres any major bad comments about them.

Its common these days for companys to sell their stuff thru ebay.........its the first place I go to when researching anything Im going to buy...for bikes or otherwise...... <!-- s=0= --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_2gunsfiring_v1.gif" alt="=0=" title="Gunfire" /><!-- s=0= -->

cool thanks so much for the info. just one last question before i go off tearing these brakes apart... its highly recomended to replace the pads also while doing the rotors right? or does it not really matter if the pads have got good life left in them ?

If it was me Id be putting in new pads too....they may look alright, but when they compare to brand new they will maybe be not so impressive.
Id also renew the brake fluid....its cheap and should be done every couple of years or so anyway....and a good bleed will be beneficial.
Dont forget to squeeze the caliper pistons back in before u put in the fluid....there should be plenty of tutorials online on the best methods.

Also google about bedding in new pads/brakes.....I think it even tells u about it on the pads packaging.
