I have the opposite problem once it gets really hot and then I try to start it again after stopping for 5 kind to go to a shop or something it will start without a problem but I have to hold the throttle fully open and it stays at a low extremely rough idle as soon as I let go of throttle it dies. I can push start it though and she goes like a rocket

    Just a general guide -

If starts/runs ok when hot but and hard to start cold then probably running lean and perhaps choke not working properly.

Hard to start when hot - either running too rich, or poor compression when engine hot.

Adding to Dave's comments above - The FZRs were notorious for hard cold-starting when the valve clearances tightened up, as poor-sealing valves dumped the compression.
